| Such a sad way for anyone to end their season and possibly career but given jjb is one of our very own Golden Generation it's a heavier blow imo.
Of course it would be great to see him play again and go out on his own terms and he's certainly one of those players who's heart and appetite for the Club/Sport can never be questioned but i do think this could be the curtain falling on a brilliant Rhinos career.

I meant it in terms of undignified - its like a gladiator being carried from the arena on his last appearance. Very sad to see him go out that way.

Really? About as bad as it gets. If he's snapped his patella tendon he could have also snapped his knee cap in half.
I played a game of league many years ago where one guy snapped his patella tendon. He was off work for over a year (and all he did was work in insurance), lost his job and then his wife left him. Now, I'm not saying Mrs JJB is going to do that but it's very unpleasant.
If it is JJB's last game then it's exactly how I expected him to go out. With a shattering injury after giving everything for nearly 80 minutes to get Leeds to a final.
That's the way the Vikings wanted to finish. He's off to rugby Valhalla.

I agree its gonna take some serious rehab from this to get back again and at 33/34 its going to be very tough for him.If he decides to carry on i wish him well in his recovery but it if it is to be his last game, like you say, he has gone out on his shield like the true warrior he has always been.

It sums the man up perfectly, he knew he'd just suffered a serious injury and was in massive pain but rather than just stay on the ground his devotion and attitude towards his teammates made him get up and play the ball to help keep up the pressure.

| Stuff I've seen says minimum 6 months, more likely 12 to return to action. Sorry to say, but I think that's it for JJB. With him likely to be back only in time for the very back end of next season, the question needs to be asked whether he'll be worth a deal for 2017, and given fitness concerns stretching back to 2012 I'm sorry but the answer is probably no.
Real shame for him to go out this way, but no doubt he'll be staying around the club in some capacity, a true Leeds Legend.

| I think it'd be a nice touch, if he's physically able to with the help of crutches, lead the side out at Wembley.

| There's more to life than being a professional rugby league player. I see a lot of ex-pros who get to their fifties and sixties hobbling around because they didn't understand when their bodies were telling them enough is enough.
Jamie's got four young kids and a lovely family. It's time to enjoy them, before he ends up putting himself at risk of serious, quality of later life reducing injury.

Agree with this. Not to mention the massively increased physicality of modern RL that we have no idea yet how it's going to affect players in later life.
Having said that, if I was JJB, I'd be loathe to let my career end this way if I could avoid it.
