| Quote: Charlie Sheen "Props from the NRL tend to be very hit and miss, it seems the higher the reputation, the bigger the flop. Paul Rauhihi, Josh Perry, Roy Asotasi, all came here with ruge reps and were huge disapointments. It's usually the average, and slightly below average NRL props that do well here like Kylie, Mick Vella, Craig Smith, Danny Nutley and Jason Cayliss so although this wouldn't appear to be a good signing on the face of it it could well turn out to be a gem.
All this probably won't even matter as I doubt we're in for him.'"
Vella was a kangaroo prop, smith and cayless both kiwi players. Hardly below average

| GH is, or at least has recently been, in Australia looking for our latest overseas recruit eligible for a British passport.

| How's Feleti Mateo going at the Sea Eagles this year?
Versatile, and something of a Lauitiiti style player with ball in hand. Also has a UK passport courtesy of his Mum being from Oxford.

He seemed to be in good form this weekend in the game versus Melbourne. Some good runs and great offloads

indeed, however they were hardly tearing it up in the NRL when they signed for SL clubs, Vella and Smith were particularly average at the time but proved to be outstanding for Wigan and KR

| Someone mentioned Mark O'Neill which means I get to do my joke...
Mark O'Neill played for Leeds in 2006, but I went to the toilet and missed it.

Wonder if he got any assurances about being released for the Anzac Test?

| I know fans have long memories but stop harking back to days of yore.
The days of signing players like Clyde, Mullins etc are long gone. The club has moved on dramatically and so has the recruitment process.
Recent signings from oz of Kylie, Donald and now Cuthbertson show a much more thorough and educated approach. If the player, or indeed any player, is deemed good enough we should have faith.
And as for 'replacing' JP. JP is a legend, you can't replace a legend you have to learn how to play without them.
As for o'neil, he looked good, albeit briefly, then suffered a bad injury. This is just life, how can a club legislate for that? Sometimes it's so clear why people call us Whinos.

Saints have signed Shaun Kenny-Dowell, he's quality.
