It is us that are the underdogs.'"
The bookies play it by the numbers.
Leeds are above warrington in the table, it's one a piece head to head and across the season so far leeds have picked up better results, so the bookies will favour leeds.
But anyone who has seen plenty of leeds in the last couple of months and also warringtons performances would be favouring warrington. Both have had poor results but warrington have shown far more form in that time than leeds.
So the general consensus amongst the neutral fans would be that warrington are going to do leeds.

Yep.if we turn up as we all we know we can we win imo.any of the recent form is served up and of course we can wave bye bye,but I think a lot of the teams focus of late has been on this game and I expect the big game leeds to come out the traps on saturday.

Whilst wire have been ok at times I have seen nothing myself for us to fear.they were dire against widnes and well beaten at home to wakey.fair enough they toughed it out in france but we all know leeds have a few more gears to go to and how they can lift for big games.
All if's and but's.we will see in a few days but im still confident of us pulling off the win.I think we have more big game players TBH.

| The massive problems Leeds have to turn around are the fact Warrington are far quicker at play the ball and around the ruck plus are alot faster at half back. Leeds recent form has highlighted our problems in those areas .

| I think it's close enough to go either way, and would be more than happy just to see a blood and guts performance that we could take forward into the playoffs.

Wire are certainly quick but if things aren't going their way, their response usually seems to be to try to play even more quickly. Yes, they might blow us away - although they're about the only side to have even come close to doing that this season - but equally they could implode if it's an arm wrestle.
In response to the OP, yes I'm looking forward to it. It's only the semi, what have we really got to lose?

| I'm actually looking forward to Saturday. I think Leeds will bring their A game. We will play out our sets, concentrate on a high completion rate and with a much improved defence, nothing special just get the W.
Does anyone know how many we're taking over?

| If a side were to run away with it, you may expect that to be Wire.
But if it is evenly contested, be interesting to see how Leeds perform in the last 10-15 minutes. as we have lost alot of games this year in this period. If I can pick that up Tony Smith will and will want his chargers turning the screw at that point.
Big test for Leeds.

For Leeds to do it, they need to do what they did to Wigan the other year, go all out right at the start. It shocked Wigan and that was what won the game.
You are correct on the later stages of the game. A close game and that late, Leeds don't appear to have it anymore.

They didn't go all out though. Wigan just turned up without their heads in the game and gave leeds an 18 point start.
Tomkins spills a bomb - try 1.
Tomkins let's a blatant an easily avoidable 40/20 slowly trickle out - try 2.
Josh charnley knocks on from the 1st tackle of a kick return....blatant forward pass to peacock - try 3.
By the end of the game, leeds were probably a clear knock on from mcguire (resulting in a try) away from losing the game.
If you class that as going on all out then we are relying on warrington munumentally f*cking up multiple times early on for that to work.
It's been said already but the game will be won and lost at the ruck. That is where warrington, more than any other punish teams and excel. They just roll forward off the back of it and flood the attacking line, it can blitz teams. It's why they often win easy or not at all. It's almost like saints circa 2005 towards the end of millwards reign. Gte in, get out, 3 quick tries, game over and job done.
Leeds, well, they don't really seem to have any type of modus operandi. It's always just a case of big players, clicking and producing the plays, whatever the situation or plays turn out to be.

| You can play it down all you like, and make up your own version of the day, but it doesn't change the fact that Leeds came out with pace and attack minded from the start, and went for it. Those mistakes from Wigan came from Leeds pressure and desire.

Agreed! The errors came from pressure. The high bombs came from a well won ruck, giving Sir Kev all the time in the world to put it sky high. Charley knowing a hard line of defence was about to greet him which may or may not have caused a lapse in concentration. The gap for the JP try needed creating and finishing regardless if it was a forward pass.

Which may be true but just goes to show what can happen. It doesn't undermine Gotcha's point that we have to be up for it from the start so that if Wire are off their game, we're ready to capitalise.
