Quote: ThePrinter "The one thing about the VR is they seem to be slowing the replays down to a ridiculously slow speed and it makes a big difference. When you play at full speed like the Bailey try it offers a different story.

If you play the Briscoe push incident at full speed I think you could say it's ok......if he looked close enough they'll have been a push or two when everyone ran towards the kick.

Like yourself I'm wasn't convinced about the grounding and could've done with another angle on that IF he ended up needing to go that far.'"

Likewise on first look I didn't think it was grounded at full speed, he looked to brush the ball as if it was just out of reach.

Great finish to a very tight game, neither side playing to their potential but very entertaining nonetheless.

for me Ward clearly didnt knock on, in relation to other decisions and the 'process' it was pretty clearly grounded (whether you agree with that being the definition of grounding or not) but Briscoe had contact and pressure on the ball as it touched the ground, it was fingertips, it wasnt controlled, but if that was what was being referred i would have expected it to be given every time.

The 'push' is a matter of opinion. I think it was very very very harsh. If a push only becomes immediately apparent on the 5th view in super slow motion, we can probably let it go in my opinion, they are big strong lads. Brough lost it because of the bounce not because of any contact.

Massive improvement on last week but not good from us again, too much lost ball, too many silly penalties, too little structure. Had we played anywhere near potential we would have been out of sight and not relying on a last second miracle try.

As exciting as it was that was two teams nowhere near potential. Huddersfield were appalling bar a 20minute spell at the beginning of the 2nd half, sooooo much dropped ball and silly decisions. They are a far better team than they showed tonight.

As a huddersfield fan I thought the decision could have gone either way. However I also thought Broughtons disallowed try was very harsh and that for Ryan Baileys try no camera angle showed he had actually grounded the ball.

Thought Silverwood was poor tonight. Some naff decisions against both sides. Summed it up when he asked the VR to 'look at everything'. Surely the ref should point out where he thinks somethibg has happened to disallow the try.

And this obstruction rule stuff really needs reviewing and now. Sod following the rules to the letter of the law. If they want that he a robot to ref games. Refs should be able to use their judgment.

When I saw it first it looked like he had clear fingertip pressure on the ball. As for the push, did Brough not have his arm across Briscoe's body? The very thing Briscoe was penalised for? At full speed there are just two guys running side by side. They are both big, strong rugby players neither of them is Jürgen Klinsmann, no penalty in that. The bounce of the ball took it away from Brough, Briscoe held his line and Brough lost his footing trying to adjust to where the ball was going.

Who was it who said on another thread recently that they are looking for any reason to disallow a try?

There's no way that's a push from Briscoe. It's 2 players running side by side toward the ball, then one changes his direction slightly (Brough) as the ball bounces away from him.
Absolutely not a penalty in any shape or form.

Whether it was grounded properly is another matter.

Logically you would assume that some part of the ball had touched a blade of grass with the bailey try, it was so close to the ground.

Broughtons disallowed try was harsh in the sense that every try disallowed for obstruction this season has been harsh. Compared to some other incidents that was a straight forward decision.

To disallow a try like that, on the basis of some marginal push, when it was 6 a 1 and half a dozen of the other in the build up, that only become noticeable in super slow mo, honestly words fail me.

This is for all teams now, the ref's are going to the screen for practically every single decision, using super zoom and super slow mo and looking for any minsclue reason to disallow tries.

It's against the spirit of the game and it's gone way too far.

A new criteria needs to be implemented for actually referring a decision, and the sky cameras and commentary team need to stop scrutinizing every little incident and decision trying to drum up false controversy.

I'm not sure it was a try but it's getting to the stage now where there's almost no need to have referees for televised games as every key decision is being referred. It's also slowly the game down massively at times. 2 minutes to make a decision after looking at the same 2 replays, over and over again, in super slow motion and super zoom is ridiculous now. Just make a decision ad get on with the game!

A 30 Meter pass that defenders wouldn't have got close to was given obstruction and your whining about the final play!

I think it's a harsh but fair call from the video ref, you can see the hand on Brough so it is fair for me. I think the Huddersfield try disallowed for obstruction was very harsh, no video ref it would have been a try; lucky for Leeds in the end.

But it came after Hudds were incorrectly awarded a scrum after Crabtree knocked on so not that lucky really.

Suspicion of a forward pass too (although I haven't seen replay - just going on what I saw at ground)

Shouldn't have had the scrum anyway so you can give over with that
