Oh dear! "Best"??
( it is always incredibly funny to me when somebody makes a statement like: "your" a comedian.)

Two things.
One you have to allow for Man of a Steels man crush, there is a reason for it for the bias.
Two, he is correct on the opta issue. It was just another silly Phil Clarke thing though, based on stats on those playing at least seven games. Not really an indicator on who is best, but one used anyway. Shenton and Carney were down as best centre and wing also.
In reality not many of that Phil Clarke line up are really the best.
As for Halifax I would also say if it was true, then probably Man of Steel would have had an idea.

| All "retirees" first pass through the Koukash stables for a "try before you buy" parade. I'll ask Marwan on twitter if he's Salford bound. He probably doesn't know who McGuire is so it'll take a few tweets before he starts tapping him up.

| Danny has been a great player for Leeds over a good number of years. However, I regret to say that time & injuries have caught up with him. His defence is at best suspect & on the rare occasion that he breaks the opposition line, his lack of pace means that he is tackled before he can score or pass to a supporting player.
We desperately need some pace at half back. For me his days are numbered at Headingley & we need to move Sinny back to loose forward &/or hooker.

| So that would mean a half-back partnership of the still maturing Sutcliffe and the unpredictable Burrow?
No thanks.

| Our lack of pace at half back is a real worry, especially without Burrow in the mix.

| Danny McGuire has been a fantastic player for us without a doubt.he has stepped up to be our match winner on several occasions with games in the balance on Grand Final night giving us many memories to cherish, and he will never be forgoten by the Leeds fans for what he has achieved at the club.
That doesnt however stop me feeling that his best days are a few years behind him now.His electric pace has clearly long since gone and he is, dare i say it, these days an average half back.Im not sure how long Danny has on his deal but i do think it maybe time for the club to look at moving him on when it expires. It would probably be in the interest of both parties as he is clearly not worth the big money and length of deal he would want for his next contract yet another club wanting a high profile signing would likely come in to meet those demands.

| I must have been the only one at the Hull game last week, everything went through him in attack as it has the most of the season, take him out and then you would realise what an asset he is.

Agree entirely...nonetheless he has lost a lot of pace and can't quite finish when he's on the end of a break or set move like he used to. Still if we have lightning quick three quarters then this shouldn't be a barrier to him continuing for a good 3-4 seasons more albeit in a much modified role to the one we saw when he was a try scoring sensation during the first half of his career. Losing him now would be a massive blow to this newly emerging team

| Newly emerging team ?
Sorry, can't go with that. No worries with the threequarters - but if they are to score tries we need more muscle up front & half backs that can move the ball QUICKLY to the centres etc.
What we need is speed & speed of thought from the back of the scrum.........that is not Danny or Sinny !!!!
We need a clear out of older forwards & half backs to allow our youngsters to prove that they are the future NOW !

| Sinfield doesn't have speed of thought?
On the contrary, I'd say he's one of the brightest and best readers of a game and pickers of a pass in SL.

| Would not argue with the fact that he reads the game well BUT he does not always have the speed of thought to execute the play.............look how many times that opposition teams have targeted him & he has put in a poor kick or has passed to no one & our game has broken down. Plus, sometimes the harder he tries, the worse his game becomes..............for me that is mostly down to his lack of speed.
