| Quote: Andy R "I didn't want Bradford to be relegated because of how it will affect our big games against them. Then I went to Odsal on Thursday and no one cares anymore. It felt like a non event. I was absolutely freezing, the place was falling apart and half empty and the game was as poor an advert for rugby league as you're likely to see bar a couple of moments. I hope there is a way back for them but after that on Thursday I can't see it. It was a sorry state.'"
I have to agree with William Eve on that the Bradford v Leeds derby was built purely on the SL Bulls brand boom and their meteoric rise to being a power in the game circa 2000.This coincided with our slump which heightened the tension between the clubs.I started watching Leeds as a kid in the late 80's and back then 'Northern' were never seen as our main rival.Without the Bully Bully and razamataz and hanger on's that went with it, they were only pulling the hardcore faithfull of around 6k a week to games in those days, and seen as no more our local rivals as other West Yorkshire clubs like Halifax,Wakey and Fev.Infact, i would say Cas were seen as our main derby rivals in those days.
I wish them well with their recovery, but its very hard to see a return to those peak days a decade ago.

I always viewed a game against Wigan as a bigger game, however the few years where we had the 20,000 plus crowds and both clubs were consistently strong sides made the fixture huge.
I can't see it ever getting back to that level but a competitive Bradford would be good for the competition. Unfortunately, unless Wakey fall apart and fail to win another game, I think they're doomed

| At the end of day it is not us the fans that are at fault for what has happened at the Bulls but the fault of the people who have run the club over the past years, some one mentioned that the atmosphere at Odsal was like a funereal last Thursday and sadly I have to agree it was one of the worst Bulls Rhinos games I have attended, you guys didn't even have to put that much effort to beat us. I respect the Rhinos fans that want us to stay in Super League but find it sad that some of you want to see us go down, Leeds are in a very fortunate position to have a very rich owner in Paul Caddick which has allowed you to compete in SL and keep you financially stable, I wonder what would happen if he said one day "I'm no longer planting any more money into the club" would the Rhinos still be financially viable ?

The Rhinos make a profit without any financial input from Caddick and have done for some time. Indeed Caddick has, on occasion, taken money out of the Rhinos to fund the Tykes/Carnegie.

I'm a bit older. The main rival when I was a kid was Hunslet in the 50s they used to get 20k for the pre season Lazenby cup game.Harry Jepson told a group of us that for a while this fixture was discontinued because of the ferocity in which the players went about it that some were missing the start of the season because they got injured

| Monday result says it all, 84-6 against half a Wigan side, what an advert for the comp. I fear it will only get worse. They will struggle to get enough point

To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

| After the 2004 GF, my favourite memory is for the home match v Bulls that same year. Never known an atmosphere like it when we stuffed them after years of being tormented by the likes of Jimmy and Robbie. Briefly, we had our own version of Wigan v Saints or FC v KR and Bulls v Rhinos in front of 20,000 was a spine tingling fixture. I miss all that buy know it will never happen again for Bradford as all the Bull Power hype was nothing more than, well, hype. As much as I couldn't stand them over the years, I hope they pull through on a secure footing this time round. I think we will never see the glory days of '96 to 2003 again.

| There is only one person at the Bulls that I have any sort of pity for and that is Franny Cummins. He as a bunch of players who quite clearly are only interested in the next pay cheque and are devoid of any professional pride. On paper there are IMO four weaker squads(London, Wakefield, Widnes and Hull KR) in the competition.
As for the fans I have no sympathy whatsoever.

| Basket-case SL franchise requiring a meaningful dose of good old-fashioned relegation.
If that doesn't work, there's always euthanasia.

That's probably fair comment other wise you would won the Phil Clarke of the week award

They might be young Rouges, but come on, they are no mugs.
Like blood in the water for your lads the other day, saw it and savaged it. Some of those youth players wouldve been champing at the bit to get a run out and prove they can do a job for you. (and after watching last seasons jnr GF at Headingley they know they can) with a run out no doubt at Hunslet this weekend, those lads will be hoping for an extended run in the team.
I said at Odsal that we went for the throat on Thursday, then eased off, but a team such a Wigan, Saints etc would run up the score.
