My worry with Briscoe at centre is that he has played there a few times for Hull and not really impressed, i would have thought if BMac saw Briscoe as a centre he would have tested him there against London and this isnt a game i would want to take a punt in.

Is playing in an injury hit Hull team really the measurement of a player? especially when comparing to the current Leeds team defending.

Well i think we knew when Briscoe was signed that he was a top quality winger, i think if he had been a top quality centre we would have known that too.

What we know is what the club told us, that he was top quality cover for all the backs positions. I would say that would include centre, and would be happy enough to go with that.

Well i didnt know he was a top quality winger because the club told me, i knew he was a top quality winger because I saw him play there regularly, and thought, “That guy looks like a top quality winger”

When I saw him play centre I thought, “This guy doesn’t look like a top quality centre, he looked far better on the wing.”

Leeds centres tend to defend inside and have to make 15-25 tackles each match. Briscoe is a good defender but not sure how either he or BJB would cope with the vastly different defensive workload.

Briscoe's main strenghs on attack are touchline finishing and powerful dummy-half running for quick play-the-balls. His weakness is his handling. Play him at centre and you lose the strenghs and expose the weakness, which is why, whether or not he filled in for Hull at centre, he's played 99% of his career on the wing.

I don't recall you seeing him play centre with Leeds, which was exactly the point.

Craigizzard, you make a very good and valid point. I do however dispute the handling bit, Briscoe has very good hands. The point about defending inside though is a correct one.

i didnt need to see him play wing for Leeds to know his quality as a winger, why would i need to see him play centre for leeds to know his quality as a centre?

Not sure two new centre wing partnerships is the way to go, i dont recall Hall and Watkins playing together.

If that really was to turn out the way, we might aswell go same as last week and let them have another rest .

I remember a couple of seasons ago Saints coming over to Headingley quite depleted with most expecting a Leeds win and they royally turned us over.

No game is certain....unless you're playing London.

Especially away to Saints, we've taken some beatings over there over the years.......the words "red" and "hair" spring immediately to mind.
