A great team effort, and a tournament which has ten fold reignited my interest in International fixtures. I'm sure by Saturday I'll be motivated for the final!

I would hope it has put an end to the repeated bleating about England being "light years behind" the likes of Australia and New Zealand. Mind, repeated Tri/Four Nations wins over the Kiwis haven't done that, so I don't see why it should start now. |

The problem was Roby passed to Sinfield who was on the very narrow side. He's too tight to aim properly down that side, if Roby goes the other way both Tomkins and Widdop have the other corner to much easier aim at. |

True but it was a bad pass from Sinfield in the first place so it all comes back to Sinfield I am afraid

I was right next to the play and remember Kev having a word with Roby before the play-the-ball and lining himself up on the short side. I thought he'd just drill it into touch but it looked like he was trying to kick it dead (Leeds-style) but the Kiwi winger was perfectly positioned.
Anyway, Johnson's try was scored with 21 seconds left on the clock, more than time it takes to form a scrum in a hurry. The only difference a kick to touch would have made would be the try being exactly on the hooter. |
