| can i half agree with both of you!
burrow will never be a 9 as long as i have a hole in my backside.
mcshane isn't good enough BUT like rhinoms says he has a poor game and is dropped unlike others.
i simply can't understand why GH hasn't gone and got a top class hooker because boy do we need one

| Burrow is only effective when he crabs across the line and ends up being in the position he would be if he was playing 7. BMcD usually likes a team of 2nd rows though, so don't expect a new hooker in the closed season.

| We need a hooker – plain and simple.
Sinny’s is not and never will be a hooker and neither will Burrow. Both their distribution from the ptb doesn’t have the sharpness or precision that a dedicated hooker does. Both are excellent players in their preferred positions but neither is a hooker.
There was a point last night when Sinny came into dummy half and neither of the markers were set, there was a massive hole behind the ruck – a decent hooker would have spotted this and scooted but Sinny instinctively passed the ball out.
Our main downfall last night seemed to be carrying injured players but this was compounded with the distribution from the ptb. We weren’t sharp enough, we weren’t fast enough and our options were predictable.
GH needs to get his hand in his pocket and plash out on a top draw hooker, we don’t need a new winger we need a fekkin’ hooker!

This, for me.
He just doesn't seem to have it. Which is a shame.

| Quote: rhinoms "The "negative view" is purely an opinion on indidual/collective performance though whether the Coach or players.
Most on here offer a balanced and reasoned view JC yet 99% of the time you'll defend or resort to past results as a reasoning to why those views are not valid in your opinion.
Nothing should be beyond question/discussion negative or positive on either side i agree 100% maybe the tone or point is getting mis-read in some cases and to be fair its not easy to detract from what was a monumental effort tonight from a broken and beaten team on the back foot but imo questions still need asking and changes need to be made throughout the structure.'"
If you believe nothing is beyond question then why do you object to my postings which actually do provide some balance to the non stop moaning about the coach and certain players. If you only want to have sheep around you, you should have been a shepherd. Baaa

But not so good a coach it would seem.
On a related topic, weren't the up-and-coming hookers McShane and Hood supposed to benefit through learning from Buderus? That hasn't happened in any noticable way either.

| McShane has all the ability, but he's clearly not doing (or doing) something that causes the coaching staff to doubt whether he can transfer this into regular good performances.
The future is in his hands.

| Yes I read the could as well but my point was here we are three seasons on from that article - having been promoted from squad number 26 in 2009, to 25 in 2010, to 24 in 2011 to the coveted 9 by this current CEO/coach combo in 2012 - to where we are now.
As the coach said in the article "He is in great hands" so why hasn't the player fulfilled his potential?

I fully agree, but would you have dropped McGuire at the start of the season?'"
Why was that necessary - why could we not have McGuire at 6 Burrow at 7 and Sinfield at 13? we all know why perhaps that needs addressing first - but some team members are beyond criticism on here.

Has it occurred to you David that the club see Sinfield playing at six and defending out wide as the way to get the best out of him and prolong his career?
Or are a succession of strong coaches and a no-nonsense CEO all being dictated to by a player who hardly anyone in the game would consider selfish.
Course, it could just be your connection to a certain stand-off clouding your view.

But look at what you are writing Andy.
Sinfield moved to stand off permanently when? So where's the succession of strong coaches. Coincidentally our defence as a team was far superior when Sinfield defended in the middle, compared to when he moved out wide.
I agree with you on the comment of prolonging a career why it's been done.
Question is, is it better for the team?

No it's not better for the team. It's simply a case of our captain putting his own international aspirations before our teams
You wouldn't have your England 6 playing 13 for his team would you !
Imo he's not even our best 6 never mind the country's
