I understand the policy of leaving subs until late on, but it has to be adaptable. With so many players fatigued or injured I would expect both Sutcliffe and Clarkson to come on earlier

It wasn't about just last night, it was all year. The way he wanted to play the same 17 whenever he could, and flog players to injury. The busted side started at Easter, where every coach with any sense rested and rotated. Our dumb idiot was lauded by the feckw!ts as innovative for doing the opposite.

Like I said you didn't need hindsight to see we would suffer later in year.

Nothing you can do about injuries, upwards and onwards to next season

Of course you can do something about injuries. You rest and recuperate until fit to do otherwise. When not fully fit don't compound the problem further by taking risks.

I'm currently out with a broken ankle. I don't like been off work, so I was in a couple of days after injury. I had a knock back, and have added a couple of weeks onto my recovery at this stage. Like McDermott I was stupid.

The only real injury worry there was McGuire and he was on the bench. Would have given a good account of themselves and given JJB, Delaney and Watkins a week to try to get right.

Last night wasn't the issue. I have stated it continually all year, whilst blind ignorance muppets argued otherwise. McDermott pushed players beyond what they should have been pushed earlier in the season, mainly Easter. Because of that fatigue set in early aiding the onset of injuries. The way Delaney has been handled has been shocking.

The coaches desire, as he has no other ideas, to have his same preferred seventeen players every week, has led to situations that may well have not developed had he managed the squad properly. You only have to look at the two Grand Finalists to see how it should work, one of which already won the other domestic trophy.

To compound this further he has continually proven he will go further than poor squad management, by even taking risks in actual game day management.

That is my problem with it, not just last night. Last night can always be said to be hindsight, because it's one match, although having so many busted is a bad gamble. But what isn't hindsight, is when it has been clear all season, and right in front of everyone's eyes. Last night at some stage was always going to be the consequence of that.
