They haven't bought success. They still don't look like a team on paper that can consistently challenge the top clubs. What they have done is make significant improvements on what they currently have in a number of positions.

To be successful under the salary cap you probably will have to build up your supply of home-grown talent. But there's no reason at all to think that they're not doing that as well.

This recruitment is an exercise in bridging the gap from now until they can do something more sustainable I think. Good luck to them. They have good juniors, so some of the experienced players they've brought in will be good mentors to those kids too.
