| What's all this revisionist nonsense about Hoods performances last year? He scored a couple of good opportunist tries in TV games, however I saw nothing to suggest his dummy half work was anywhere near the standard required.
On the contrary, his distribution was woeful.

Wigan - McIlorum & Tomkins
Huddersfield - Lunt & Robinson/Wood
Warrington - Monaghan & Higham
Catalans - Henderson & Pelissier
Hull KR - Hodgson & Withers
Saints - Roby & Howarth
Hull FC - Houghton & Heremaia
Wakefield - Aiton & Wildie
Bradford - L'Estrange & Diskin
Widnes - Clarke & White
Cas - Clark & Milner
Salford - Godwin & Foran
London - Randall & Fisher
Not sure where Hood would fit in at any of those clubs really. They've all got an established first choice hooker that Hood wouldn't displace.

This of course is pretty irrelevant without understanding how many have been injured for periods, the fact that Howarth was signed after the season had started, and Wood wasn't at Huddersfield, and Fisher had to come out of retirement to help London.
You are talking about a highly rated player not just by the Leeds club but others.
Leeds should have been the ones pushing is availability out there, not the other way round. Look how many Wire players have been out this year.

It's not irrelevant because it shows an established first choice hooker at each SL club that is easily a better choice than an untried and untested Hood.
It also shows most of the SL clubs 2nd choice hookers to be a better choice than an untried and untested Hood.
Is a short term loan where he might play only a couple of games particularly better than playing every week at Hunslet?
I'd say a hooker needs a long term loan to help their development.
From that list (plus of course clubs have the option of using other players in that role) I'd say only Wakefield, Salford or London would have even been a possibility for a long term loan.

All three options better than playing at Hunslet, so what are you arguing over?
Funny how you quote the two Widnes hookers, yet That partnership was broken up by a loanee last year. Plenty of opportunity's for super league loans.

Well we've narrowed the entire league down to 3 clubs just from looking at their squads. Were any of those clubs in the market for a hooker? Considering 2 of them have let a hooker go on loan to another club this season you'd have to assume hooker isn't a priority for them. What makes you think the club have been lax in terms of Hood's development given the lack of SL opportunities for him?

And Widnes might be happy to take that player on loan again. Or they might not. A tad irrelevant when the player in discussion is Hood and not McShane.
Are there? How many hookers with only 5 SL appearances have been loaned to other SL clubs?

| I must have missed the queue of SL clubs lining up to sign Hood on the back of his performances at Hunslet this year. Absolute rubbish suggesting Leeds wouldn't have let him do the same as McShane this year.
The gnashing of teeth about Hood strikes me as another example of people getting upset because a player they marked for greatness simply isn't as good as they thought they'd be. Been there, bought the t-shirt.

| I feel it is a loss, he was all was highly rated, and when I saw him he looked like a lucky player. I hope for the lad sake he finds a club. But I do hope we are not making the mistake we did with Lowes letting him go.

| Lowes was a first team regular at Leeds for 4 years. He developed a lot at the Bulls, but even if Hood went on to be Cunningham Mk2 it couldn't possibly be the same thing at all.

We haven't narrowed down anything. What we have shown is that opportunities would have existed to get him a loan at a super league club, had Leeds made him available and actively pursued that route.
Whether that would have made any difference to where we are now is completely whistling in the wind. But what it would have been is far more productive than messing him about with Hunslet.

| with the possibility of sir kev playing more games at hooker to accomodate suttcliffe and also having burrow playing 9 when maguire is back fit, it is no wonder that hood wants out and thats not even thinking of mcshane or any truth in the lunt rumours !

| I'd have no problem taking him at Saints. Howarth is a good stop gap for us in a deal with Gaskell and Salford but when he goes and leaves Robes being the only 9 then i imagine he wouldn't mind coming to Saints?

Could have existed Gotcha. Although as per Him's post, those opportunies may not have been there.
