| My guess (and like Gotcha it's purely a guess) is that current player(s) may be promoted. As they're current players and additional remuneration will be included within the salary cap.

| If true - is anyone really surprised the role of 1st grade assistant coach is being made redundant - think of the cost savings.
Surely it's only a matter of time now before the CEO renames the club Eagles, while simultaneously taking over as head coach and re-locating to save the Don Valley Stadium from closure. On the plus side it'll make my journeys to watch home games much easier.
I'd even consider buying a season ticket.

| Could be a bit of trouble at t'mill going on here.
First he applies for the cas job, then he changes his mind so it looks like he would be away at the first opportunity.
Pehraps it's GH sidelining him, either way I am not a big fan and was surprised at his appointment from the wire as by and large he failed over there.

| Have Peacock and Sinfield said they want to go into coaching? I'm sure both in the past have mentioned possible administrative roles but I don't remember them mentioning coaching too highly, and unlike JJB and Burrow don't appear to have been particularly active coaching different grades at the club.

Maybe they will take it on while they are still playing?if coaching salary's don't count it may be possible to give the young lads a decent contract

While coaching costs probably have no impact on the salary cap generally - paying current players a coaching supplement I would imagine does count towards the cap calculations, otherwise it's an easy and obvious way to flaunt it.
Looking at the overall squad I seriously doubt that it's within 20% of the permitted cap ceiling considering the 2010 squad also fitted within it - unless the CEO has had a fit of generosity towards pensioner players and if he has it'd be out of character, IMO. The reason he doesn't give decent contracts to lads making their way through the club system (if indeed he doesn't) is probably more because he doesn't have to as there will always be another one along in a year or two with the required attitude.

| I Think what you will find the position will be filled from within the existing staff with Barrie Mc moving from head of youth development. GH likes to promote from within. This would give an opening then with the juniors for a recently retired or soon to be retired player.

Barrie Mc is already above that position in the heirarchy mate. And he is not currently in agreement with the way Brian operates. So I think that would be a shock mate.

| I'm pretty sure Sinfield and especially JP want to go into the administritive side of the game when then retire.
Of the current and recently retired playing staff I've heard Burrow, JJB, and Senior have all done some good work coaching our juniors.

| Wonder whether Poching Jnr might be able to have a word in the ear of his old man and tempt him back?
On Wainhouse, I'd be surprised if Eaton took a step down from being head coach at a Championship club to being assistant in SL.

Would he rather be an assistant at an SL club or a head coach at a C1 club? Hunslet will do very well to avoid the drop the way things are going.
