My source also said that BJB would be the 1 to leave but didnt say where too'"
5 years? Think he's damn lucky to get that long if so. He's a good player but currently no world beater like Hall. Seem to be throwing all eggs into one basket with a deal like that. Also I think it shows how desperate they might be to get him - wrong IMO

Him and Watkins playing together would be a treat.'"
Dont think we are splashing any cash for Briscoe as he is a free agent because he was meant to be going to the Sharks in the NRL but has changed his mind after they were implicated in the doping scandal
5 years does seem too long given his form this year but thats what I have been told

| Signing Tom Briscoe - and the significant chunk of salary cap it would require - would be a piece of chronic mismanagement by Hetherington.
Presumably the usual suspects will be against this signing as it would add further barriers to the likes of Chisholm, Watson and Duckworth getting in the first team

| Watson is already going at end of this season, Chisholm may well switch codes and go play with Carnegie on a more permanent basis, which would leave Duckworth as back up and slowly introduced to first team.

Agree.
BUT (as you also stated I think)....we do not need another threequarter as much as we need a good damn quality hooker, and/or scrum half.

Who knows. Maybe ratchford is not seen as the next full back or has been offered pots of gold back at Salford?

| Would be a good signing not too sure at the expense of BjB tho. I know Briscoe has played fullback at times for hull, so there's potential to cover that position also. After a few years I think his future will be in the centres. He's an international player, the more the merrier

So in your mind Tom briscoe the England international is the same quality as vickery?
Regarding the top bit of your post I agree I personally think if he comes he will be on a large wedge of cap, which would be wiser spent elsewhere.
A back line of Hardaker, Briscoe, Watkins, Moon and hall would be a very exciting line up but we have problems in the halfs and soon to be retireing props that needs addressing

That's a great leap of logic you've made there.
Unless Briscoe is signing for Leeds before the end of this season, whether he's better than Vickery or not is irrelevant. The question is whether he would be a substantial upgrade on Jones-Bishop, enough to merit the higher salary he would no doubt demand.
The answer to that question - IMO - is no he isn't.

Well said Ferdy. Some on here are rather too supercilious in their 'opinions'

| If this is true then it's not very Hetherington-esque

I completely agree with you on the matter and would prefer BJB to stay.
I was referring to your thinly veiled comment about the usual suspects thinking briscoe would be blocking the development of chisolm etc... A critisism that has been aimed at vickery

This may strengthen rumours of others leaving too.

| Briscoe is having a relatively quiet season. Lineham and Carney are the new 'kids' on the block so to speak and rightly grabbing the headlines over Briscoe and dare I say it Hall in the SL winger position.
Briscoe, especially if he can re-capture past seasons form would be the type of flashy season ticket selling capture that should appeal to the Leeds CEO so I wouldn't discount the possibility entirely - especially if the alluded to departure does occur despite assurances to the contrary.
Agreed with others that any such move (in the still fairly unlikely event that it would happen) shouldn't come at the expence of the high priority positions that need filling first but Briscoe could be way above average for Leeds.
