| Not being acquainted with Kevin Sinfield apart from admiring his efforts on the pitch, I do though wonder if he finds this adulation somewhat embarrassing.
He seems to me to be a thoroughly decent young man with few airs & graces.
I'm sure he would normally endorse any attempts by the club to increase income & awareness but would cringe a little at calling it "Sir Kev Day".
We should celebrate his tenth anniversary as skipper - thanks again to Daryl Powell.
Will we ever see such a prolonged period of success again?

I do hope it will all come to an end - and sooner rather than later. The heart and soul of the game has been ripped out by SL ideology and it needs to get it back ASAP. It needs to re-establish a lot more meaningful games throughout the season because the current meaningless fare for the vast majority of the season is increasingly becoming a turn off for more and more fans. There is a massive disconnect between the regular season fixtures and the play-offs/grand final. The two have almost become entirely separate and unrelated tournaments and with more clear-cut certainty in terms of ambition and approach.
Leeds have no option but to market season tickets by associating them with a great team of champions captained by the greatest club captain of all time. It makes no sense marketing season tickets on the basis of the clubs and players lukewarm approach to regular season fixtures which sees them finishing in a very ordinary position on the SL ladder with increasing regularity. How else are they going to achieve their goal of flogging 10,000 season tickets for meaningless warm-up fixtures when the team has no intention of waking up and getting into gear until September?

If only some people put as much effort in to being positive about our amazing club, then they may actually get some pleasure from supporting a team who are playing out my dream. We are living it now...the greatest time in our club's long history is happening in front of our eyes NOW.
I will be supporting #SirKevDay....the man is a complete sporting icon, and we have the honour of actually watching him every week...yes i regard it as an honour.
Some of you people need to open your eyes..because one day this will all come to an end, and then you really will have something to moan about.'"
I hope LCC take note and make him a freeman of the city, and I also hope that one day in the future a statue of Kevin Sinfield will stand alongside John Holmes statue

According to figures not true.

Oh dear what a terrible situation for a sporting club and business to find themselves in, whatever next?
Debating with you use to be a challenge, now you just need the Old Yeller treatment.

I notice you discount the 4 titles won from 1st or 2nd to prove your point but nevermind. In those 6 October Saturdays, "Sir Kev" has achieved more than you can ever hope to in your sad pathetic little life (unless you equate bites on an internet forum as success)!

Which is ironic given that a few years ago someone with similar views to William was adamant that playoff placings was what mattered not regular round placings, relegating Leeds to 6th in 2006 after the loss to Warrington instead of 3rd.

You know what they just might have done. I suppose it depends if they were banned or not at the time

It's a shame that he hasn't continued with this train of thought these past 2 seasons and promoted us from 5th to 1st,but then again it wouldn't suit his agenda

I'm pretty sure the same individual used to post about how one of the many reasons that SL would never live up to the mighty NRL was because only the top 2 were real contenders for the title

| I agree with much of what William Eve is saying. The intensity has dropped off during the league in recent years. However its hard to know for certain whether the teams at the top are getting worse or the teams at the bottom are getting better. I do remember after Leeds vs Saints part 3 that there was also an air of inevitability about the season, that Leeds and Siants would finish 1 & 2 and would then play each other in the GF (which Leeds would win).
I for one don't think the play offs are flawed, and that 5th is the bets place to finish I just think Leeds have become the best at playing the game for the whole season and peaking at the correct time.
I can see that if more of the top teams follow Leeds' example and play at a lower intensity then the result could be that fans are turned off as the product is not as attractive as once it was
