| Interesting IE - Wakefield and Widnes both wanting McShane, Leeds looking overseas for an hooker as I and Tad were told in the past.

Out of the two at Castleford I think I would rather have Milner.

| Sounds fair enough to me.
Maybe he saw what contract was on offer at Leeds and it was way off what his current deal is up to 2015 at the Giants.Or maybe he just does want to stay at the Giants now that he has been told he figures in Andersons plans.
I wish the lad all the best.He played a major part in our play off series charge.I was a little unsure about him up until that point, but he stood up and proved what a quality hooker he is.I do, however, believe we have 2 young lads in McShane and Hood who have the potential to be at, or above his level in the next 2-3 seasons given some real game time.
With Burrow looking likely to continue in his starting role as hooker, as has been said,Lunt would have been continuing in the understudy role so this is far from a disaster.we move on.

| I seem to remember reading on these boards somewhere that the Leeds contract offered was less than his hudds one (no idea how someone finds that out other than making it up!)
If the above is true with a young one and wedding to pay for can understand it.
He may just have prefered hudds, cannot see it though with the season he has just had, the chance to play the Aussies and how he seemed in the team

| Maybe he didn't think he was getting enough game time at Leeds?
Maybe Leeds wouldn't offer him 3 years?
Might as well stick to contract he has, in terms of security. Almost certainly more than Leeds were prepared to offer, albeit with less chance of success.

| That said, it's a shame he's going. Will be disappointed if our big name signing is a hooker though.

| Lunt wasn't getting any game time at Huddersfield so whatever game time he got here was better.
I'm sure Lunt's real preference will be obvious to anybody but perhaps there were just too many complications to make it happen.
If his Huddersfield deal is better than his Leeds deal then, whether Anderson wants him or not, he has a lengthy contract and he can stick to his guns.

| He has won a GF medal with us so has ticked off something he would not achieve at Shudds, Really liked his style and gives a good ball fron ruck area, I have to agree that he must have been told we are to bring in another hooker and if its the same one I have heard no one on here will question Lunt for leaving.

Is that just the thought of having a grand final winners ring in Huddersfield?
Cos i'm pretty sure they wanted rid of Lunt last season.

| Lunt had a good stint for us and was rewarded with a GF winners ring to take back to Hudds. Good luck to him but now really hope we do come up with a replacement to bolster the squad.

| Will he do a show and tell with his ring on his first day back at Hudds?

Would rather see an explosive prop or a quality centre. Even with Lunt now departed there's Burrow, McShane & Hood as hooking options. Is Burrow going to settle for a place on the bench? Or is the potential big signing not good enough to walk into the first choice hooking role - if so whats the point? Who is available that's Better than Lunt/existing?

| It all seems a bit odd, no disrespect to the giants but we are light years away from them in all aspects of the game. I suspect we don't know the full facts ,
no doubt all will be revealed in the coming weeks.
I would have liked him to stay as I feel he had room to improve on top of some decent performances.
