It's hard to understand why the likes of Moore, Kirke and even Griffin (who has been hugely disappointing) were all considered a better option, considering all are aged and past their best, BUT no better than the much younger Amor.

In truth, I would wager that Moore on his day is at least the equal of Amor.
Those that think getting rid of Moore, Hauraki, and Kirke is the answer to all our problems are sadly mistaken. We will still have the same 17 out on squad days.'"
I disagree with you on about 95% of your sometimes strange posts but I couldn't agree more on this one.
Apart from Hauraki, we would be better with 12 men than have him on the pitch.

I think all three are better than Amor. Amor has had a few good games, but he's got a long way to go before he would be starting for Leeds every week.
I think some people are trying to pin a poor season on poor recruitment and the only player that half fits this theory is Amor, and of course then there's just Nantwichexile....

| How many Leeds players have left and gone on to better things?
If Leeds don't think Amor has what it takes for the club, then I trust them
Good luck to the lad...he won't win any trophies at Wakey, but he'll be playing regulary and getting paid.
He won't be missed at Leeds.

| I am disappointed.
Is Kyle better than peacock at his peak? No.
Is Peacock at his peak? No.
Kyle is better than Moore, Kirke and Griffin, IMO. He's also better than Bailey in certain aspects of his game (work rate with the ball). He's also in his mid 20s.
IMO, he would have improved our 17 as part of a 4 prop rotation.
It's not Kyle holding back the development of Singleton. It's the continual selection of Kirke and the signing of average players like Griffin and Moore.
For various reasons Leeds have mis-handled the retention and development of young props in the SL era.

Luke Burgess. Garreth Carvell.
Young, developing props, in other words. And there was a lot more justification/extenuating circumstances for letting those two go than there was Amor. (I assume by "gone on to better things" you mean turned into international standard players who would walk into the current Leeds team, rather than won Grand Finals for their current clubs, otherwise the question would make Ian Kirke a better prop than James Graham).
Over the course of our three games against Wakefield he's already looked the best prop on the park behind Peacock, and he's ten years younger.

I think this sums it up. Decent player, easily good enough to make our squad, but at the end of the day a one-time world beating prop at the twilight of his career was still able outplay him.
My biggest worry isn't that we've lost Amor to Wakey, rather that our ambitions don't seem to extend to acquiring someone better.

| Completely agree G and Gotcha for me Singleton should be in the 17 already at kirkes exspense and i'd take Amor to replace Kylie whilst also using JP "sparingley" with regular matches off.

| Disappointed we haven't signed him. He would have been worth a place in our 17 IMO.
Good luck to him at Wakey.

The declining 34 year-old JP would have had a decent shot at outplaying the improving 24 year-old JP too. It was around then that he really kicked on.

I don't think you could put Singleton and Amor in that situation and expect to win games. Both are still very young (for props) and relatively inexperienced. You could play one, but not both - it would leave us too light up front, or our second row would be having to make up for it too much.

| Meh, Amor is a decent SL player who has had a decent season. Wont ever be international class, wont ever be Man of Steel.
He may be better than a couple of our rotation props, he isn’t better than Leuluai or Peacock even now, nor Griffin imo. Possibly better than Bailey, probably better than Moore and Kirke, not as good a prospect as Singleton.
We have better, there are better out there, the difference between us winning silverware and not isn’t going to be the difference between Amor and Bailey, Moore or Kirke, he isn’t going to be a pack leader, he isn’t going to be a frontline prop. He is a decent SL level player, that’s why he has gone to Wakefield, and not Wire, Wigan, Saints and why we have let him go.
