Used to is the operative word there. Think you also under rating Ali's role also. We seriously miss a running backrower down that left channell also.

| "USED TO" is the key in your statement he's walking with a limp or at least he was 2 weeks ago.
He was way off his best prior to injury and should be left well alone.
The inexperience isn't starving us of anything the TEAM structure is as much to blame as anything as is playing behind a struggling pack and the insistence of playing a 7 at 9 and leaving a 9 on the bench ,the defence is struggling and we've hardly created any space or offered quality ball for Watkins and Hardaker to use.
Our problems are much more than having Hardaker at LC and a crocked way past his best Senior would add very little if anything other than another place for the opposition to attack.
Also agree with Gotcha re-Ali.

| Well something needs to be done, Hardaker looks more & more lost centre as each game passes & Watkins misses more games than he plays. Net result we have no genuine centres and the wingers get no decent ball. Senior isn't the perfect answer but the best of very few options

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."

| I said this the last time this came up a few months ago, i think the problem is people are remembering the Senior of 2004 which was great. The Senior who played the first 3rd of 2011 was really poor, especially in defence where he left Hall out there on his own quite a few times.
Plus after the YEP story last week of Keinhorst apparently being on the verge of a first team call up i would suspect he might get the nod before Keith. He may or may not be good enough for this level but only one way to find out, but i would wait until after the next 2 games against Wigan and Wire before giving him a chance.

| Re-signing Senior until the end of 2012 is a Risk, but a Risk worth taking.
Worse things could happen.

| Just a few of the comments around the time of player and club parting ways July 2011
Quote: Leeds CEO Gary Hetherington "It will be a long time before another player as durable, fast and smart comes along in our game, never mind at the Rhinos. In my short time here I have enjoyed coaching him and getting to know him. His contribution to this club should not be under-stated. Keith is and will be massively missed and all the players and staff wish him the best for the future.'"
Quote: Leeds CEO Gary Hetherington "It is a shame he is going. He has had a brilliant career here and he has been very successful. He has been a big part of the club, but it is a challenge for me to keep playing and trying to earn a regular place. A spot is there for the taking, so I am up for the challenge.'"
Quote: Leeds CEO Gary Hetherington " Keith Senior is a world-class player and I am delighted that he has decided to join the Crusaders. He has been the top centre in Super League for over 12 years now and players of Keith’s quality do not come along very often. I’ve played alongside Keith and he is a very special player. He’s a devastating attacker who always gives 100% to the cause. Keith’s leadership skills, experience and winning mentality can only make us a stronger team next season. Keith will offer us size and power, as well as a try-scoring threat. He is still at the top of his game and his signing is a major coup for us. I spoke at great length with Keith before he signed. He’s still got a drive and a hunger to succeed and he has bought into what we are trying to achieve here in Wrexham. It is an exciting signing for us and I am looking forward to working with him.'"

| My how absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Senior was my hero for years, but was clearly slower, less powerful, and very much less decisive in both attack and defence during the last couple of seasons.
I can understand the yearning to bring him back to fill a gap, but I fear more for the gaps that he may leave in our defence if he returns.

| I doubt he'll chuck a young lad in for his debut against the pies or the wire, Ablett to continue where he left off in the centres I reckon

All those comments are still true of this man, and some people have a very warped memory of Keith Senior. With his rest period and his wellingness to prove doubts wrong, I think he is worth a punt.

I'd say most of those comments are true but I'd seriously dispute some of Iestyn's, especially ''still at the top of his game''. You would have to have missed a hell of a lot of performances in his last couple of seasons to seriously believe that...unless of course you had just picked him up as a marquee signing for a club with little else to offer and on the verge of superleague suicide.

Geez...can't believe this trying to turn back the clock. Put the sentiment and judgement clouding cosy memories aside....if Senior had been a Wigan player instead of Leeds' player would you sign him up under the present circumstances ?? Quite rightly I think anybody suggesting such a thing would have been universally mocked.
I'm with Tad (make Ablett the left centre) Gotcha and Rhinoms (maybe give Keinhorst an opportunity first).

| Sure there is a little sentiment in my thinking re-Senior but unlike others I haven't written him off and I'd like to see whether or not the twelve months break has put a few more miles back in to the tank or not.

You might be right....but is the club really in [isuch[/i dire straits on its first choice options that it would seriously consider such a move ? Poor showing really, if so.
