| I used to think he was the only one of the Sky pundits who talked sense. He's got steadly worse though, & is unable to hide his Wigan bias. He's now embarassing at times.

| I'm not 100% sure but I think Matty Russell is one of Andy Clarkes (agent) clients. Russell is a superb young player and probably better at his age than Sam Tomkins was.
It's a great move from Wigan, Hull and Matty's perspective to give him the opportunity to play at 1st team level.
You all know my feelings about the academy structures in this country.

| Clarke seemed in a bad mood all night, especially towards Hull. Whenever a team dominates for 10 mins Stevo has a habit of saying they've dominated the whole game, the 08 and 09 Grand Finals he stated Leeds were poor after the first 30 mins only to say after 80 mins that we were great from start to finish.
Did laugh when he said near the end that Peter Gentle ''won't be gentle tonight, he'll be rough''.......just what he's suggesting there i dare not think about.

| To be honest as an FC fan i find the coverage on sky shocking the same as you do. Does stevo only say things to be controversial ? I cant seriously believe someone who has played the game can have such tablet induced opinions!

I was of a similar feeling. Used to think he brought a lot to the table, and I do enjoy some of his stats (I'm a bit of a stats geek), but some of his comments are rather flippant, and just not well thought out.
I like Carney as a presenter, and think he offers some level-headed insights.
I think Jon Wells is by far the best addition to the Sky team in a long time. His analysis is top notch and he picks up on the right things when looking over tries, unlike Paul Cullen who was dreadful and often picked up on things that just weren't significant at all (and often not even there!). Although I had to disagree with Jon when he said that the video referee was right to disallow the try despite the fact that he had just said you couldn't see if he'd grounded it or not on the SuperZoom (surely that would mean "Benefit of the Doubt"?). I think he was just trying to be positive about the referee, which is fair enough (better than listening to Eddie and Stevo bickering about the referee's performance even when the ref is right!).

You've got to be kidding. He's an idiot. Quite apart from not getting the fact that in Rugby League a referee has to find a reason to disallow a try, the rest of his knowledge of the Laws of the Game is laughable. And it's not just matters relating to the game itself where he's an embarassment.
Rewind to the Good Friday derby and Hemmings handing over to Wells:
EH: "Well Jon, it's true to say that Hull today is a city divided"
JW: "Not just divided Eddie, it's split right down the middle"
It's not just his comments that grate, it's also the way he delivers them. He's like Sky Sports answer to Al Pacino in "Any Given Sunday", every statement he makes is shouted at the mic, it does my crust in.

| Yes I agree and Clarke would be the first to say we dont give young British kids a chance.
What about Richards cant Wigan find a winger in the area?.

| Carney by far is the best. He genuinely seems embarrassed at times with what is being said and tries to argue and give a differing opinion without it taking over the whole of commentary.

| Tony Rea was a big loss to the Sky team and i agree Carney is decent.
I quite liked barrie and Tez doing the Championship and they aren't as cringeworthy as the senile Stevo ,fluent in bollox Clarke or the jibbering idiot Hemmings.

Totally disagree.
I don't see what is wrong with his split down the middle comment. He's trying to say there is an even division. A city divided doesn't make that statement.
And anyway, he's new in the job and these are just minor points you're picking on. His actual job is to analyse the tries and he does this very very well. Whilst I disagree with his Tickle no-try analysis, that is just one in many that I feel he's gotten wrong (but wring in a positive way in that he's agreeing with the officials, and not bickering against them like the rest and detracting from the game).
I think it's extremely unfair to call him an idiot on the back of two borderline comments. Do you not think his analysis is good? And whose was better?

| Carney looks to be the heir apparent to Wiggy but as yet there doesn't seem to be a clear contender to Baldy Knumbnut's spot in the box as yet.
Barrie often drops quite funny quips into his commentary and with Tez add a little comedy relief to proceedings but not entirely sure that's what I want from a co-commentator.
Clarke... well the less said about this moron the better.
Jon Wells is OK doing what he does but don't know if I could stomach a full game with his uninspired comments.
Bill Arthur???
