Batley Bulldogs youngster, very highly rated. Barrie McDermott went to watch the Batley CC game last weekend to watch him play.

Can't see Lee Smith being trusted with the gig and I'd like to see the BJB/Watkins combo further take shape so we would be in the market for a full-back.'"
I agree...but is the aged Minichiello the answer ? Seems a sideways move at best to me. Think I would rather re-sign Webb.......(or maybe sign Ingliss, with Hardaker to FB )

Would be happy with inglis!!!
For me wouldn't be a great singing mini cheddar. Hope it's just a rumor along with Williams on the wing! Don't want either

Minichiello is about the same age as Webb but is a much better fullback. He's having a great season in the NRL and with all his experience in Grand Finals, SOO and Tests he will be able to pass it on to our young backs. I think similar to the role that Buderus performed.

| Lee Smith to replace Webb is fine for me! He just needs a regular spot and he has a safe pair of hands under the high ball and can pass adjacent and not forward!

| Why on earth would Leeds want to sign both a winger and fullback? Even if Webb leaves, that would mean only one position up for grabs.

Isn't Webb able to pass on that same said experience in GF's ? Pretty lame reason for replacing one ageing FB with another past his prime.
Whatever Buderus did do for the club (and he did plenty of course) I don't consider his mentoring role was anthing to trumpet about. Do you see any vast improvement in McShane's consisency ?? He doesn't appear to have benefitted from Buderus's sagacity in any significant way

You can lead a player to a good teacher, but you can't make him listen and learn.

Flip it.
Just because you were one hell of a player doesn't by default make you the guru of teaching.

Hence the absurdity of successive governments' policy to batter teachers with the ofsted snapshot on the day and trumpeted league tables' misguided importance mantra.
Making a teacher in a financially stretched school with poor resources and huge class numbers responsible for the failings of numpty, brain-dead kids and hopeless non supportive parents is one of the biggest state crimes of recent years.
Now they're talking about paying teachers on the basis of their pupils' exams successes....which sane, right minded teacher is going to want to take on a set of deprived, parental unsupported inner city school kids ?
Who is going to want the renowned thickoes from the earlier schooling years, fictitious for this posting, Johnny and Phoebe, in their class? Bluddy barmy.

| Darcy Lussick and David Stagg/Tony Williams/Dene Halatau pls
Id rather have Steve Turner or Anthony Quinn than David Williams and Moltzen over Minnichiello - purely on utility.
