This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif |

| Hood needs game time to continue his development. The Under 20s don't play again until the end of the month, so a spell at a lower league club where he's hopefully going to be in the team every week will do him good.

| To be fair Andy the majority of people who post on this board could get into the Dewsbury team week in, week out

| It looks as though Leeds are now agreeing with my views on McShane.
Hows that other brilliant prospect Rory Kettlewell doing?

Not all halves can be as world class as Danny Orr it seems.
Thems the breaks.

That'll be Danny Orr who played for England and Great Britain, and also captained Yorkshire.
Now this Rory Kettlewell guy?

Or maybe not, McShane is the one who has just got the new deal and hasn't gone out on loan.

982.jpg [quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj]

You're seizing any opportunity to turn around your lack of credibility about opinions you've given about Leeds youth set up in the past. You may have shot your load a little early. McShane remains contracted at Leeds and part of the 1st team squad.

He does seem obsessed with our Acadamy set up and who we produce from it

| Isn't McShane's problem inconsistency more than anything? I thought he did a great job in the World Club Challenge, and certainly didn't seem like any kind of defensive liability against a monster pack. If anything I think he's tended to suffer because he's played sporadically and in differing roles - off the bench being quite different to starting.
I'd not be wailing if he leaves, and I haven't seen all of McShane's games where he might have played badly, but he has more potential than a lot of other players IMO.

Agree with this Brisbane...IMO McShane has massive potential...more than some on these boards reckon, but probably needs more game time to develop it.
His absence from the squad this week, and Lunt's inclusion doesn't look too promising in terms of this.
On another note, does anyone know how many 40-20s Mcshane has kicked? Despite his limited appearances I'd be surprised if anyone at the club's kicked more in the last couple of years.

The slight difference being that Rory Kettlewell was a young lad we took a punt on for a few quid in our academy. Didn't work out, never played first grade.
Danny Orr was your starting half back for a while. He didn't come from your academy either.
Good comparison this. Has every player ever to come through or go into Wigan's academy ended up in the first team? Or did you spend most of the 2000s shipping them off to Hull KR and buying older, antipodean random averagers? Just asking.

Don't know how many minutes he was on in the WCC but I think he only made a couple of runs and 6mtrs but made 18 tackles and one decent kick for touch. Adequate rather than great IMO which sort of sums him up. I have a suspicion that he is not so good on the training field - no proof just a feeling.
