An insult to the other sixteen players in the team that day and also the rest of the squad and coaching staff. Buderus was only 5.88% of the team that night in October. Each player had equally important role in the team effort.
As for Diskin he's looking the best he as done in a few years, however he was no longer good enough to play for Leeds and he knew it, so he asked to leave.

So Ian Kirke had just an important role in his GF winning teams as Kevin Sinfield!!
Buderus' quality towards the end of the 2011 season was the difference between winning the GF and not even getting past the likes of Warrington. He was by far the most influential player in the team and dragged the defensive effort out of the team almost single-handed.
On Diskin - I see no difference between now and post knee injury - the injury prevented him being one of the finest players British players of the SL era - sadly.

| what a load of rubbish. burrows job was to move the big warrington pack around. he consistently ran at carvell, morley, westwood and the rest, often getting battered. he was unselfish in his job. he created little but did his job brilliantly. often in the next play or two after a run we found gaps.

Quite right. Burrow was a constant threat and tired out their big forwards by moving them around in a way that gave his own forwards a breather. How is this playing for himself?. It is a good tactic for Burrow not to pack down in the front row as his speed is better utilised from the back of the scrum. Burrow is proving that you can be a success at 9 with a different style and he is a major reason for our good start this year. My choice for MOM was Sinfield but Burrow was a close second.

If Ian Kirke and the other unsung players did not do their job, then the likes of Kevin Sinfield, would not be so affective in doing their bit. Every member as a equally important role, as a team is only as good as it's weakest link.
With regards Disko I mentioned nothing about pre and post knee injury, quite clearly though post injury he was not the same player, however having watched Bradfords last 3 games on sky, he his playing better than he as done in the past few years. I do agree that the injury prevented him from becoming one of finest players of his generation, however that's the reality of sport, players get injured.

The bile you reserve for Rhinos players is quite sad. I can never take your opinions of Burrow seriously. You set your agenda on him clearly back in 2001 when he had the temerity to be given a 1st team debut ahead of your beloved McGuire.
If Diskin wants cheering up he can watch videos of a Leeds hooker winning a Harry Sunderland award in a Grand Final. Or even watch videos of Burrow gleaning every vote for man of the match in another Grand Final, even thoiugh you imagine that should have gone to Buderus.

| I too was jumping on the Burrow is a spent force band waggon (sp) last season....but I am more than happy to state the little guy has proved me wrong.
I have never doubted his guts, spirit, amazing speed for such a little guy and exemplary tackling ability. He is now back to his fearless best, mixing it up with the forwards (Kirke take note) and constantly getting scragged for his troubles. Inevitably he always gets the last laugh with at least one productive break that leads to one usually critical try at a hugely crucial moment of the game.
He is unconventional....no doubt about it.....but the question I ask is who do you fear most leaving Leeds and returning to haunt us in the future ? Burrow would be at the top of that list at the moment ....he is a constant threat especially later on into a match against those tiring forwards.
Tad was right though....he was [i most[/i effective when sharing the dummy half role with McShane for large parts of the match, whilst being allowed to buzz around in a roaming role. Whether he could share the role equally as well with Hood is yet to be seen. Either way Burrow commands his starting role at the moment....long may it continue.

Bit like you really - your agenda against McGuire has been as long as he got an opportunity in the side. What is funny is that McGuire is only playing because Sinfield wants him at 7 - your diatribe this year against McGuire is duly noted - good job you don't pick the side!!
On Diskin you are the only man on here who thinks Diskin is a better player than Buderus - says much about your ability to understand what is going on before your very eyes.
But then he comes from Dewsbury - can't be doing with these flash harry Aussie no matter how good they are

| Burrow has been one of the best players in SL so far this season and people still want to critisise. Watching the game back Burrow made a few good runs and was always dangerous, and given the amount of times we moved the ball wide would suggest that Burrow was a key part to a decent [iteam [/idisplay. FWIW I thought McGuire was MotM.
Hood looked very nervouse when he came on, his passing from the PTB is generally better than he showed on Friday. McShane has been unlucky to be left out.

You may wish to check my comments about McGuire in his last three games. I've done nothing but sing his praises.

| I don't think anyone at all has said Diskin is a better player than Buderus. However, in the future when people look back at videos of the GF wins and read about the great Leeds team of the early 21st century, they'll see the name Diskin a lot more than that of Buderus, and Diskin will be far more worthy of "Hall of Fame" status than Buderus.
I still don't think McShane has been dropped either.

| Is it just me or does anyone he lay some of the praise/criticism at the dorr of the coach? Clearly burrows 'apcking down' at 13 was a tactical ploy from the coaching team, much like the instructions for him to run with the ball more.
For what its worth I thought he had a good game in terms of his willingness to run and try and create something. The problem was that Wire were ready for him.
The issue then was, what do we do now? And if we had had McShane on the bench I think you would have seen him come on and break up the play more. As it was we had Hood who we are bedding in slowly (which is correct I might say) so Burrow stayed on and did what he had been told to, and Wire kept sitting on him.

| Greasy night, lots of dropped ball, slippery conditions underfoot, quality opposition. I don't blame Burrow for carrying more frequently than normal.

| A break from Burrow earned the penalty that put us in the driving seat.
A break from Burrow set up the clinching try.
He got man of the match, Granted there were other contenders but it shows he had a good game nonetheless.
Don't get sucked in to the agendas of Sal and Gotcha.
It speaks volumes that Burrow biggest genuine critic, Harrigan, has been very quiet about Burrow recently. Unless he's been too busy cheering on the Bulls.
