| do people really think clubs are looking to sign senior as a 2nd row? he is a and that is where clubs looking to sign him will play him. leeds did the right thing to let him go because he was upsetting the applecart too he was quite disruptive towards the end.

| while agreeing with a lot thats being quoted, Senior was playing below his own performance level, he was made one of the scapegoats for a lot of poor team performances.
I to think it is exciting to think about the possibility of our young backline but I just think we do not have much back up strength in the centre should the very exciting Watkins fall to injury again. Yes we could return to Ablett or perhaps Smithy but is not a road I'm sure the coaches are even thinking off. Just think that Senior would be useful because at his worst he was probaly as good as most centres in super league and I'm sure wouldn't cost the earth while still allowing our youngsters to develop.

| Quote: Sal Paradise "Finally not sure I would want a player in my squad who is solely focused on achieving his own goal of 600 games.'"
In this decorated players case I think it's great that he has that target. He wants to give himself and his body a goal. nothing at all wrong with that.
Senior on the field has never had a problem suplying his team mates, he's also there for the dust up etc, so I don't see why this would change now.

I'm sure Steven Price, Darren Smith, Jason Smith, Steve Menzies and numerous others who have played in the NRL into their mid-30s wouldn't agree with that sentiment.

Maybe that is why the likes of Menzies are/were in SL in their mid 30sand not in the NRL. Not sure you would see many centres in their mid 30s in the NRL!! even less who had just suffered a potentially career ending injury? Maybe that is one of the reason we cannot beat the Aussies?
To those on here who think Senior would be a good back up - rubbish - can you see Senior playing only when their were injuries to younger players!! - his comments regarding Zac said what you need know about a passed it player who cannot accept he is not the player he once was

| Quote: time will tell "AMBITIOUS Keighley Cougars coach Jason Demetriou wants ex-Wakefield, Bradford and Melbourne Storm winger Semi Tadulala, 33, plus Leeds' ex-international centre Keith Senior.
Further in that article:
"HULL KR flop Willie Mason is set to leave moneybags French rugby union club Toulon halfway through his first season and return home to Australia.
Toulon are happy for him to leave. But despite Mason being a 24-cap Kangaroo and a top player with Canterbury, Sydney Roosters and North Queensland, he has found no senior side interested in signing him."
Now this 30-something spent force is one to avoid!

Great player, but I think a few screws are loose in his head.

| Senior has given great service but as a player whose assets were based on power and pace he faces a rapid decline at the top level unless he can keep these assets. I think his time has come to move on and he could be useful for a club not in the top grade. I would only consider keeping him as cover on the pay as you go basis.

| Keith Senior may well be past his best, but his best was so far ahead of 90% of the centres we produce in this country, that even now he's a good option for a lot of Super League clubs. Leeds need to look to the future now, IMO, but I'd be a bit surprised if no SL club finds a place for Senior in thier squad if he recovers properly from his injury.

Yep I'd agree with that. Senior is better than many alternatives in SL currently. Playing a young lad instead of Senior simply because they're young doesn't suddenly mean that SL have produced a youngster of better quality. If hes better than the alternative his age is irrelevant.

OK so how do the young players develop - how do they get the top level game experiance required to be a top player - sometimes you have to take a step back to take a leap forward.
I repeat - the fact most on here are suggesting Senior is still in the top 50% of centres in this game is a very sad indictment of SL and its youth development.
