Echoing the thoughts already expressed here. I think Gary Speed was my first sporting hero, will always hold a speical place in my heart and Leeds in general.

It really must be a terrible afliction.I was taken aback listening to people talking about how well he seemed on saturday morning.His family must be going through such a terrible time right now.Its not like some one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness .I am so sorry for his family and others who have similar tragedy's |

Although it is the most rational explanation, it's important to note that nobody actually has any idea if it is depression that's driven him to this. That's just the assumption the majority have made.
It could be any number of things, but it's a tragedy nonetheless. |
