| Yep don't see the problem really. It's pay as you play for 1 year so won't impact the cap much at all and is probably a better option than signing an Aussie on a lot more money and restricting Watkins or Hardaker's game time. Gives us 2 experienced backup threequarters in Smith & Senior.
As for the squad unity argument, utter rubbish. All the players I've talked to like Senior and the squad managed to win 5 Grand Finals with Senior as part of the squad. After all he was still a part of the squad this season despite his injury.

| If Keefy has been offered a pay as you play deal, then I'm happy to believe that GH sees something in it for both parties.
I'd certainly prefer Senior to be the centre cover before Smith, and who knows, maybe being allowed to leave HQ will spark the old warhorse up for one last great hurrah! Even if it is only a cameo part.
The ball's in Keefy's court. His pride has been dented, and possibly he still thinks he can put in a full shift, and is still looking for a deal somewhere.
Either way, I'm still believing in the sleeve!

Utter Rubbish? really.
Have you seen his book? did you hear his comments on the radio about Hardaker?
What about this
Quote: Him "It has been disappointing, therefore, to read some of the implied criticism of the club’s handling of this situation as we take great pride in the support we give to all our players'"
It's a million miles from utter rubbish mate, it's stone cold factual. This completely goes against everything this club has stood for and run as over the last 8 years.
Senior waited until he was out of the club (or at least he thought) before having a go. Now it's his usual only considerations, himself and money, that he's back with his tail between his legs.
GH is putting his personal friendship before the club and coach in this instance. It is a smack in the teeth to a coach whom against the odds has just given us arguably our greatest ever achievement.

Agree it offers us cover without costing too much, and not bringing in a big name or someone who would demand starting spot show to me that the kids will be given a shot to claim the centre spots for their own. Would be weird seeing keef in the rhino shirt without 4 on the back!

I think bringing Senior back, even on a pay as you play basis is a big mistake. Even before his book was published I thought it was mistake to keep him this year yet alone for 2012. It's vague what his role will be and he is still considering the offer. I think this proposal is all through friendship with Gary H. So much for a marquee replacement who could still slot in with Watkins and Hardaker!
Is the recruitment now over for 2012?

Agree 100% knows the club and players has a history for puttig Hall in the corner, can cover centre( where he is still better than Smith IMO) or second row. The fact he is a cub legend might make it a bit of a PR move aswell not that we needed one.
Mac and Keef would reconcile differences if it was for the good of the club, remember Keef was ousted when the club was at its lowest point this year. And the relationship can't be that sour as he's still been around the club all year, wembley with the medical staff etc.
IF he signs I bet he keeps 4 same way Burrow will keep 7 while playing super sub

| No problem with Keith on a payp basis, Watkin should definitely be first choice but his body hasn't held up to SL very well so far has it.
Not read his book so no idea what he's said but it sounds like GH has a good relationship with McDermott and I would guess he didn't offer Keith anything without consulting him first.

Gotcha probably knows exactly but it was something about the GF being Hardakers worst game in blue and amber.
Given his outstanding displays this year, I can see where keef was sort of coming from. Hardaker was strong defensivley which was good to see, but he didn't have the dazzle he normally has in attack then agai he is only 19 and it was a GF so Keef was a bit harsh.
I think having him back will only help the young uns as if he signs he knows he wont be first choice, having the best english centre in the the last decade givng you pointers cant hurt, can it?

| So... Peacock, Kylie, Moore, Bailey, Griffin, Kirke, Ambler, Singleton. I wonder if McDermott will employ the same rotation system as TS used in 2004. Ambler and Singleton will go out on loan at some point I reckon.

| Why would Senior want to play for such a set of "negative tools" anyway?! He's about to reach the ranks of Jon Wilkin in terms of hypocriticalness!

| Don't really have an issue with this. Doubt he'll play much but if he does he's good cover! Hopefully his main role be a mentor type to our 2 very promising prospects at centre. If it does get to the point where he has to play then that's fine. But as we have Ablett and Delaney as back up already, it might be a rare occurence. Plus we have Smith, who is getting paid to sit about at the mo. So surely he'd rather play Smith and get at least some value out of that rather than play Senior and have to pay him?!

Wasn't there a sizeable debate on another thread about you passing off your opinion as "stone cold" fact?
If Senior has such a poor effect on squad unity why was he part of the squad at Wembley despite being injured? Why was he invited by McDermott & the players to the after GF p[ii[/iss up?
Obviously GH isn't thrilled with some of Senior's comments in his book, hence the final paragraph of that article. So why, if it risked the squad unity built under the stewardship of GH, would GH risk that if Senior would be disruptive?
Are you just disappointed that your Nostradamus-like prophecy regarding this squad hasnt come true?

Surely Lee Smith will be released this post season?!
