Nah. Save that for the GF...
I thought COM Stadium was awesome the one time I've been there (for the Tri Nations game a while back)

If they really thought that, why would they pay for a ticket that includes four games, and only watch one of them? No chance, if you are going you are going to stay for the most part of the day. Granted on the staying over thing been a no no though.'"
How many people do you think that "hard core" really is though? 5 or 6k maybe? Not enough to sustain crowds over 2 days. Cardiff is a long way to go for one game. Manchester isn't.
I'd watch all the games (if I were going, which I doubt I will given that Junior Diablo should be arriving shortly before that) but I don't htink that many people will.

I forgot it a long time ago and so did a lot more judging by recent attendances.

I think the daily crowds would be miles higher than the pathetic Cardiff and Edingburgh events.
Yes, you won't be helping out the local hoteliers like the other events, but each day would be a great event on their own.

We'll see. I'm sure there'll be some good attendance figures quoted, but how many fans from Game 1 will still be there for Game 3, and how many from Game 3 will have bothered to turn up for Game 1? More tickets will be sold. Not sure that will translate into more people in the ground at any given moment.
I am prepared to be proved wrong. Has happened before. Recently.

PS Following sherbert dip and his beat the motorway queues sat nav to manchester was like going to edinburgh time wise

So would the Wire fans - they'd love a trip to OT.

It's been on the increase for a while now but don't worry, it will always be blamed on football fans.

| You can get some cheap digs in Mosside! or Crumpsall!
I would have prefered Newcastle for a better night out or not too far to drive back

| Gutted - I'll be fekked if I'm having a weekend away in Manchester.
My eldest is now at Uni there and I've been there 3 times in as many weeks - hardly a 'holiday' weekend resort.

Those who follow the path of the righteous:
shall have their reward.: |
|
| Seems like good sense to me, in the current economic climate not everyone can afford an overnight stay and long distance travel.
More chance of a larger crowd to generate a bit more atmosphere.
How many people are going to fork out the money for a day and then only watch the one game, you want to go and see Hull play whoever ( hopefully they will be Derby games) are you going to miss the opportunity to see Wigan and Saints tear it up or Leeds and Bradford battle it out? Three or four matches on one day for the price of one ticket, and still near enough to get home that night so no overnight expenses, sounds good.

True, but the weekend away being more the point, it would be better to avoid the event full stop than do this.

You would think, but given how many people forked out to go to Cardiff and did exactly that, I suspect the answer to your question is; plenty.
I doubt match tickets will be all that expensive compared to a normal match ticket (I paid £28 in 2007 I think) and if they are, again, a lot of people won't even bother with the one game.
I still think they'll sell a lot of tickets but you'll still see a half-empty stadium for most matches, the empty and full areas will just vary throughout the day.
