Personally I think JJB deserves this award. If all of the team had made the same effort as he has, who knows what could have happened this season. Yeah he gives away a few too many penalties, but in a season of inconsistancy he was one of the only few to stand up and be counted.

I agree, him and Ablett have been two of the best backrowers in the competition this year.

The Wigan fans are livid that Hoffman didn't make the dream team (understandably IMO) but there is also a very strong case for JJB.

Well done to JJB, thoroughly deserved.

I am surprised Ablett didn't get in but not too surprised at Webb's inclusion. I know he gets a lot of stick on here but week in week out he's often our most creative half back. Clearly his peers and coaches recognize that if the fans don't.

I, alongwith the majority of posters, believe Ablett should have been in the mix but when you consider the same person who made this selection selects the team each week I'm guessing no more needs to be said.

I'm sure he is. The obvious problem being that he hasn't been fully fit for at least 3 years.

No one is disputing that a fully fit Webb is a class act. The point of these awards is they are supposedly based on the season's performance and the most fervent Webb supporter cannot honestly say he has played his best rugby this year whereas Ablett has performed week in/week out and playing the majority of the season out of his natural position.

It would be mildly amusing to think of a catagory that he might have been the winner in.

Worst signing for not one, but two Super League clubs in single season (most crap props we sign from Australia just settle for being a disaster at one club but Cross wanted to do better than that - at this rate he'll be RL's Stan Collymore)?
