| BJB is a class act, him and Charnley should be the england wingers at the end of this year. Id be surprised if any of them even made the squad though.

Both very good wingers indeed but at the minute Tom Briscoe is surely a shoe in? He adds a dynamism from the wing that I'm not sure many others can.

BJB looks the business and has skinned Richards a good few times the year. I really like the look of him.
I thought Webb looked awful yesterday and he's looked awful most times I've seen him this year. I was shocked Leeds offered him a new deal, he's worse then wello

| I think its a bit harsh to be critical of BJB. He is a young lad with enormous talent and had a very good game yesterday. Ok you could say he should have taken on the full back after beating Richards but you can equally argue that he had spotted three Leeds players inside him with only the full back to beat. He could see a pass would be blocked by Richards.
I think the kick option was the correct call. Had the kick had more height or had been further to his left the odds were greatly in favour of a try. Also a fully fit McGuire would have scored in any case.

| The point is he tries it repeatedy when there are more tackles to go. As a last tackle play fair enough.
Don't get me wrong.. The guy is class ( and should be at FB )...he just needs to stop his " party piece " after the brilliance of the act in beating his man on the outside.

I disagree with you. BJB beat Richards in and out and had a split second to either try and repeat the in and out on Tomkins (who is fast) or pass inside or kick into space for the 3 Leeds players who were backing up in a line inside him.
He chose to kick (possibly McGuire shouted for this) but the odds were in our favour and had McGuire been fully fit we would have had 6 points.
Kicking should not be limited to the last tackle as a sort of panic option. The creative player should be free to kick early. Tomkins regularly kicks early with great effect.
We must not stiffle flair with hindsight comments from the stands. The lad should be encouraged to show his attacking fair using his positive attacking instincts and must not be limited by thoughts of making safe options like the mediocre majority of players. He will learn from his own experiences and get better.
I applaud the rare creative players who take risks and I welcome BJB & Watkins who should be encouraged to follow in the footsteps of the likes of John Holmes and Lewis Jones

| I really think we have a great future with some of our backs the likes of Bjb ,Watkins ,Hardaker and Hall will win us many games.
At the game yesterday i actually thought there was enough room for Bish to make the corner but given the inside options i could understand why he tried the kick.
Like Juan says we have to be careful not to vilify these youngsters when they try different things and i agree he will continue to learn and get better.
For me our back division should have Hardaker ,Watkins ,an on form Smithy ,Bjb and Hall in it and if that means saying thanks and moving Webb on then i'm all for it.

| I look forward hopefully to getting another shot at wigan in the playoffs and seeing bish frighten the life out of richards, bish must be his worse nightmare on the outside, hes done him a couple of times this season already, richards is a great kicker but the genuine pace he arrived in the uk with has now gone or he is just getting older

Absolutely. Some on here ( Him ? ) seem to think Webb is still worthy of selection and he has 'played well' to justify it.
I can actually only remember Webb having one good game recently (ironically against Wigan at the DW).
His dropped bomb yesterday with [ino[/i pressure and his poor effort against stopping J.Tomkins' try were all I remember in another anonymous contribution. Sad to see his demise.
With the likes of the younger, English born (non-quota using) BJB, Smith and Hardaker all more than capable of taking on the role (Watkins too has played FB) it was puzzling to say the least that he was offered the contract extension.
K.Lleulai too...why ?? What did he [ido[/i yesterday, apart from sabotage the Leeds momentum away with his brain fart charge in, after Peacock's terrific drive to the line ? ( For BJB, Smith, Hardaker you can read Amor, Ambler, Singleton)

Richards has never fully recovered his pace after that bad achilles injury he picked up in the Grand Final last year.

Agreed....
In defence of Pat, he has had no pace all season since that achilles injury in the GF last season. Speaking as someone who snapped his at Taekwondo 3 years ago, its a bloody awful injury... (I am in my 50's tho). I would expect him to be quicker next season.

| There was a bit of a sense of 'changing of the guard' in some areas. Webb was poor, Buderus looks shot - certainly not a patch on the player he was. Of the underperforming older players only McGuire deserves benefit of the doubt as he still looks to be less than 100% fit (I really hope he does come back because last year he was terrific at times). I will say McGuire needs to work on his defence though. His goal-line efforts are really poor. Lockyer is no bigger than him yet nobody expects to run over the top of him - its down to technique and effort, and in Lockyer's case a real determination not to be the weakest link.

Webb's last good game was against Wigan at the DW....those games are few and far between.'"
You would be under that ball 20 times and drop it 20. I was sat just behind Webb when he caught that. It moved horribly just before it hit him. Horror show of a ball to catch.
