| Quote: gulfcoast_highwayman "There was one game at Thrum Hall (ask your parents, kids) when it just seemed to last for the whole second half. I remember other people around us asking us to stop and it just spurring us on.'"
IIRC it was sang all the way throught half time @ Central Park during the Offiah ten try game. When that massive blue & amber flag was unravelled there'd always be a bit of a reaction. I wonder what happened to the flag, it was brought out at a home game once and seemed to reach from the bottom of the South Stand to the top.
The South Stand is certainly a different place nowaways, I blame the band!

| Quote: Superted "Haha I can remember it being like that a few times. In the particularly poor games, sometimes even a try wouldnt interupt it. Brilliant times, even though we were massive under achievers with that team, some great days out, and some great trips to central park.'"
There were some great days out, for me at times it was more about the terrace experience than the game itself. Its funny, at the away games like Salford, Cas, Halifax we'd always stand at the side. i can't imagine the Salford fans being to happy when 50% of the fans in their side terrace were the singing Leeds fans. Central Park was always my favourite, indeed, i think I was first served for beer @ the bar at the end of their main stand.

| It wasn't a song exactly, but I'm sure the "Fox Out" chant could be up for an adapted comeback.
"Green, green grass of Headingley" was always my favourite. Brian Mac might like it too given it's based on the (US) Marines Hymn.

| Doesnt sound as though there will be enough of you to make a noise. very poor ticket sales. You couldnt even sell you allocation for the semi final only 25 miles away. I think you have all made the right decision me thinks a good hiding coming to you from Wigan.

We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.

Kevin Iro's debut - vs Widnes IIRC on a Friday night at Headingley - That's the only time I can recall the S Stand actually singing all the way through half time. I guess we thought it was the start of something big

| I do enjoy that. We are the winning rhinos strait into when the Leeds go marching in is also a good one. Just hope there's more atmosphere than last year. Mind you this game will sort the wheat from the chaff, those who go truly want to go and not merely hanging onto the coat tails.
Bring em on!

I know who owns the flag ... Not sure what happened to it, will have to ask him.
I also know who got the aforementioned flag in to Stade Charlette in Paris in '95
One chant when that came out was "We all live in a blue & amber stand" to the tune of "Yellow Submarine"

| Quote: OUR WILLIE ""Keep Right On......." was sang by Leeds fans all in the 70's and 80's and even into the early 90's . I know I've sung it enough times. It should be sung again , along with "Green Green Grass of Headingley..." , "6 Foot 2 , Eyes Of Blue , Big John Atki's(probably Carl Ablett now) , After You , Nannanananaananana " , and others I'm sure older posters here can remember with equal affection.
Other topical songs of their time include "Hey Rock And Roll , Murphy's On The Dole" and "Video Jailed The Rugby League Star".
I'm sure these can be updated to suit todays times.
It's up to you guys.'"
I've heard 'Keep Right On' sung in the SS a few times, albeit many years ago (late 80s onwards ?)

| I understand this one comes from the 70s Who’s that team we call the Loiners ?
Who’s that team we all adore ?
It’s the boys who wear the blue,
With the hoops of amber too,
And they’re out to show the rest what they can do.
So bring on your Wigan and St Helens,
Widnes, Warrington too,
They can try with all their might,
But be beaten out of sight,
By the lads who wear the amber and the blue.
Graham Murray has an army,
Iestyn Harris has a dream,
They’ll go down in history,
When they march to Wembley,
And the Loiners win a famous victory.
So here’s good luck to all you Loiners,
Here’s good luck to me and you.
For throughout the rugby game,
We will immortalize the name,
Of the boys who wear the amber and the blue. [/i
Albeit with an amended verse for the 1999 final ...

| Here's another one which again, I think dates from the mid-70s ... The important part of this one is that the first few verses are spoken and not 'sung' <spoken>
I went for a stroll one summer’s day,
I went for a stroll up Headingley way,
In to the social club I came,
Where they play that dreaded bingo game,
The committee man said “You get out”
“We don’t want you Leeds fans about”
So, I went to the South Stand bar to cheer up,
Paid my money and supped my beer up,
When a rousing noise came from above ….
<Sung – Tune

Here's the words as I know them Keep right on to the end of the road,
Keep right on to the end,
Though the way be long,
Let your heart be strong,
Keep right on to the end.
Though you’re tired and weary,
Still journey on,
Till you come to your happy abode,
Where all you love,
You’ll be dreaming of,
Will be there,
At the end of the road. [/i
At the end, the song then goes in to a chant of 'Loiners, Lioners, Lioners...'

| There used to be a lot of "Yorkshire...Yorkshire" chants when playing Lancs teams. Then there were the ones specific to other teams - Old Faithful and Red Robin come to mind.
Sorry if mentioned, but to the tune of Que Sera Sera with lines like "Go wash your mouth out son, and go get your father's gun, we'll go get the X scum, que sera sera" (I can never remember song words, sorry).

They still sing that - can't stand it, it's too braindead for me.
There also used to be a lot more repeated grunting of "Get into 'em".
