| Was spotted early enough, landed between 1st and 2nd row just missing couple of heads. No harm done, but could have been a nasty one!

French makes Karl Pilkington look like Alan Whicker.'"

| I'm sure I've seen somebody penalised for throwing an opponent's boot away during play? May have been the 80s. Seem to have an image of Cliff Lyons in mind but could be wrong.

No that is a correct call from the monster Challenge Cup run during the 1985/86 season under coach Fox. Fortunately we still drew the match with Widnes at Naughton Park (thanks to a last minute David Creasser penalty, image below, after he'd missed with all five shots previously during the tie) and went on the win the quarter-final replay back at Headingley. The 5-0 result ending a never to be forgotten series of four straight matches over eighteen days playing the then brutal Chemics and ending with a record of Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 1 and a place in the CC semi-final.

Might it also be techincally a criminal offence too ? Wasn't there a football player convicted of throwing a coin / lighter or some such object back in to a crowd and it hitting a spectator ... Was anyone struck by it ?'"
Mcgoldrick I believe.

| I remember Burrow's boot being left in our 20m and then the trainer went and returned it to Rob, who was playing on further downfield.
Did this happen after the 'throwing' incident?

The steward threw it back to the 20m

| I couldn't quite believe it when I saw it, its one of the worse blatant cheats i've seen on a rugby pitch. Its dangerous Burrow had to defend a set of 6 with no boot he could have quite easily taken a stood through the foot in a tackle. I hope the RFL look into it, I doubt it though.

Agree. Also the police should have a look and charge the culprit with assault. I believe it was Willie Isa

| All we are asking for (as mere fans) is consistency from the RFL and it's officials. How Gerry Kershaw can award a penalty against Cliff Lyons in 1986 and Phil Bentham not award one against some random Castleford player some 25 years later frankly beggers belief.
If Stuart Cummings had any integrity his resignation would be on Richard Lewis' desk before the end of the day.

Because Gerry Kershaw was bent as a nine-bob note when it came to Leeds and Phil Bentham isn't?

No chance integrity is missing throughout RFL HQ
