When was the last time Leeds beat Wigan in a Final of any kind?

| You’ve got to remember that this Wigan Warriors side are the underlings to Leeds Rhinos when it comes to recent success. The only year they’ve done better than us is last year and that was only just. Still we beat them in a challenge cup game and a playoff game.
Wigan fans might go on about ancient history. But no one from back then is in this current Wigan team so it’s a completely different thing. Let’s be honest Wigan under Noble were very much like Leeds are now under Brian McDermott. Wigan wasn’t badly coached but they certainly weren’t brilliantly coached either. It was just put a bit of effort in when the times right.
Now under Michael Maguire Wigan have absolutely transformed from chancers into champions. Leeds are the chancers this time around and based on recent history I think Leeds have a very big chance indeed to come away from Wembley with the challenge cup.

33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

I’ll have to tape another finger on my hand to do that with a Wigan fan unfortunately. Or you can still cut your sixth finger off so we can do high five

True, but when the chips were down and it REALLY mattered, Noble's Wigan never quite had enough.
I don't expect an easy ride in the final, but from what we've seen from Maguire's Wigan, we usually find something extra in the big games.

The world club challenge is a fine example of Wigan not finding that something extra in a big game in this year alone. I’ll give Wigan credit for last year’s Grand Final and the way you’ve conducted yourselves in the challenge cup run. I think it'll be Leed's game based on recent history such as Leeds running Wigan very close and knocking them out of the challenge cup last year.
Plus this Leeds side has the knack of been underdogs and coming out on top. They did it very impressively in 2007 and 2008.

Fair enough.
Just to be awkward, , I'll take reference from finding a performance to knock Leeds out of the playoffs at Headingley (when it really mattered) last year as well as this year's cup run. St.George were worthy winners in the WCC, but we'll see in 3 weeks who turn up the best.
