| He had a good games yesterday, but for me would not be giving him a new contract.

| Nor for me. Anyone who still thinks of him as a gamebreaker should dig out a few old dvds of him in his prime and see what a genuine gamebreaker really looks like.

| Depends how he goes over next months. I think he is a much better option than Kirke, especially on Sunday's showing. As has been suggested a reduced rate with performance relasted bonus would tempt me to give him a year, unless we have a blinding signing in the pipes!!!! Doubt it though

| I suspect the sticking point may be more the length of any proposed contract than the remuneration - he's always placed his faith and his family ahead of his on-field achievements and may be looking for the security of a two-year deal rather than the one year extensions Leeds seem to be offering at the moment.

Comparisons to Kirke are to most extents pointless. he's already been extended (rightly or wrongly) and appears to be part of the mid-term plans

| I know, but if better players are in the squad then he makes way. Kirke is a squad player and if Ali maintained the form of the 1 game on Sunday he would walk into the 17 ahead of Kirke. In this way the comparison isn't all that pointless.

| I still can't quite bring myself to want Ali to leave. I still harbour something midway between hope and belief that if he can get a run of fitness he's still one of the best forwards in the league. This may just be sentimentality.
Best overseas signing of the Super League era?
One of the few players who I can remember exactly where I was when I heard we'd signed him. It was an outside table at an internet cafe in Aguas Calientes with a fine view of the Andes, which is probably why I remember it, but still...

| Why are you pulling your hair out?
Would it have been better if I had put at best?
He has signed and is in our squad, but I think we must have better options

Squad player is a term which usually implies somebody not a first-choice pick for match-day squads.
How many matches has Kirke missed this season?

| It was much more of an opinion than a comment on his current position. His performances do not, or should not warrant a shirt week in week out. If Ali maintains a time without injury he would be a much better option.
Just my opinion.
