| The effort was there and we looked a bit more potent in attack, but we still look poorly coached to me. Our attacking choreography is e. We hit the man in the second phase far too deep, giving the defence time to slide. It also seems to be our only attacking play, going both ways.
Webb was mostly good, but he does frustrate me! Lazy forward pass followed by penalty for dissent. I don't like the way he looks to hand on to the winger as a first option. Hardaker is the quickest man on the field, but also stick like, so don't bottle it and let him take on the kick chasers, unless he's in a better position than you.
Ablett was good but is not going to be a top class attacking centre, passed too early and put Zak up a blind alley 3 times in the second half alone.
McGuire started to take them on in the second half, he is still clearly protecting that knee though, and has lost another yard of pace. The McGuire of 2004 would have walked under the posts after collecting that kick early in the first half.
I was impressed by our players attitude and will to win, but Wigan's raising of the intensity eary in the second half just about did enough for them. We used to play with that level of intensity about 2 years ago. Now we are passive in defence much of the time, we need a big hit merchant in the Ellis, Eastwood sort of mould I reckon.

This game does not make or break our season.'"
Ah, so in a game that we lose by 2 points, a wrong decision by the officials that cost us 6 points doesn't bother you?
That sounds less like a supporter, and more like a referee with a vested interest in deflecting criticism from incompetent officials.

| Improved performance but far from good, but I suppose you can't expect to go from awful to perfect in a week. BJB is going to be a great player but still a worry under the kick. Hardaker obviously is far from perfect due to his age, he took his chances well and with time and experience he will be great. Webb was good in attack but his forward pass and bad mouthing typified him. Smith looks like he doesn't care, apart from his half-break he looked slow and half-hearted. I thought Ablett was mixed, a bad pass and didn't distribute greatly to Hardaker. Sinfield, McGuire, Delaney and JJB played well. I believe Ali tries hard but it just does not come of for him anymore.
I thought the team selected today was far better. Two fast wingers and McGuire were crucial. Also Delaney at second row and Burrow replacement hooker are more appropriate. I thought attack we went well, less one out and more behind balls, but we struggled to distribute further than the wingers and when we did it was poor. I think we went one up a bit too much occassionally. I think Wigan got the rub of the green but I believe someone should have been ready for Richards kick offs as he went for the same place everytime. I still think our defence is weak and easy to get through and the wingers struggled with the high ball.
Same starting thirteen next week unless Hall or Watkins come back into contention.

| Unlike many on here, I never thought for one minute Leeds would get hammered tonight and expected a close game instead. Wigan are a biggest club with the highest profile and it's not unusual for other teams of a lesser standing like Leeds to raise their game against them by treating it like it's their Cup Final.

We had 80 minutes and numerous sets to win it. We didnt.
Whilst Alibert and co were clearly awful, we didnt win because we didnt score enough point. It was a close game, sometimes those decisions go for you, sometimes against, when we were champions we made sure they didnt matter.

C'mon Keith, you can do better. This is more half-d than Leeds were against Bradford.

| Quote: kirkstaller "Without pandering to BM's balls up midweek, we got the performance but not the result.
I'm waiting for the deluge of forward pass threads, but I don't think that incident matters - I personally don't think we got the rub of the green, but I can't blame Wigan for that. Their defence was impressive, but so was ours and I think we pulled off the 3 man tackle quite well.
Burrow, Webb, Ablett, McGuire and Smith had good games. Hardaker looked impressive yet calm, and with a top class centre might have had a bit more room to work with. BJB backed up Tuesday's display of pace by doing Richards on the outside and putting in an altogether good performance.
I want BM gone as much as anyone else, but I think we will make the 8 and cause some teams problems. Unfortunately that will probably earn him another year.'"
As I understand you're a ref...what did you make of the decision not to sin bin STomkins in the first half...most blatant professional foul I've seen in years (he was pinged for not being square but in fact he never even attempted to get on the right side of the PTB!!)

Not sure what your on about there ^^ but we certainly have raised our game against them twice this season, and only come away with a point. I'm not getting overly excited about our improvement tonight, because we put in a better performance against them at home and have been crap for the rest of the season since.

The RFL instruct referees to issue a yellow for professional fouls.
You have to understand we are dealing with Thierry here

Its ok, sometimes I like to point out the level your trolling has fallen to.
Anytime you want someone to point out how poor your efforts are, let me know Id be happy to. You have fallen so far its like mocking Gazza, obviously funny, but tinged with sadness that a talent has fallen so far.

Yet we couldnt do this against St Helens (obviously more emnity considering our recent history and publicly stated eminity) or Warrington (former coach who beat us in last years final). Its a strange world isnt it.

To be fair to Keith I dislike Wigan more than the above named.
