Quote: Conman "How can the team who finishes top of the league beating every team in the league, knocking the current champions out, and winning the grand final be "unimpressive" champions? (Wigan)'"
Even many of your own fans would be happy to admit that Wigan didn’t bother getting out of third gear for most of last season. I’m not saying that you spent the whole season unimpressive – but you spent most of it unimpressive and a boring team to watch a times. However when Sam Tomkins was on top form (for all the right reasons) Wigan were joyful to watch.

I’m very bitter about what happened in 2005. Leeds Rhinos had an impressive season until Bradford came away and took the spoils at the end of it. Also I want to point out that my article doesn’t praise Leeds Rhinos three in a row victories from 07 – 09. Whilst Bradford Bulls may have introduced ‘ramping up the intensity in the play-offs’, Leeds Rhinos well and truly mastered it. But a majority of matches throughout those three seasons were dull.
Throughout those three years when Leeds ended up become Champions Wigan tried the same tactics as Leeds under Brian Noble. Wigan’s play off form back in those days was astonishing and made you the third best side in the country. Michael Maguire came in to tweak things up a bit in 2011 which resulted Wigan in elevating from third best side in the country to first.
Were you entertaining champions? At times yes!
Not most of the time no.
Thanks for the compliments anyhow in regards to my articles
