I'm sort of glad Radio Leeds couldn't be bothered doing any decent commentary on tonight's game. Reading how we'd dropped the ball a dozen times tonight was bad enough without hearing it as well .

| Frogga was guilty most, but with someone 2 foot infront of you and a bullet pass in slippery conditions, who could blame him with 3 or 4 knock ons.
Get out of jail definately used. Didn't deserve the win one bit!

| Had Leeds lost against that garbage called Crusaders tonight, this forum would have gone into knee-jerking meltdown of apocalyptic proportions. However, excrementitious performances don't really matter a jot provided the result is still a win, and fortunately for Leeds there are plenty of SL games where an excrementitious performance shall always be sufficient. There's another one next week.
Who cares?
Leeds will finish 5th anyway.

| The amount of times Leeds were on the Crusaders line (particularly in the 2nd half) and couldn't score was very embarrassing. Leeds had so much luck in that second half but 9 times out of 10 were not taking the chances.
McDermott walked in front on the Leeds fans to his seat before kick off, no reception from the fans. At half time he walked down the main stand but waited a while until the whistle went so he could walk across the pitch, whether this was to avoid some abuse that was bound to come from the frustrated Leeds fans is unknown. In the second half he was stood on the touchline during the whole half. Not many time you see a coach do that, pressure if you ask me.

Hope the pressure gets to him so much that he decides to quit and take his mate with him. He's pinching his money. Daylight robbery.

Agreed. Was once a good enough scoreline to win a JP Trophy for Leeds.
Only the second time it's been seen in a Leeds game since the introduction of the four point try:
1-May-62 ….. CHP ….. Away ….. Batley ….. Won 12 ….. 7
23-Oct-67 ….. FT ….. Home ….. Halifax ….. Won 12 ….. 7
24-Mar-73 ….. JP ….. Neutral ….. Salford ….. Won 12 ….. 7
11-Jan-76 ….. CHP ….. Away ….. Featherstone ….. Won 12 ….. 7
27-Nov-77 ….. CHP ….. Away ….. Bradford ….. Lost 7 ….. 12
19-Sep-79 ….. YC ….. Away ….. Wakefield ….. Won 12 ….. 7
26-Dec-87 ….. CHP ….. Home ….. Halifax ….. Won 12 ….. 7
17-Jun-11 ….. CHP ….. Away ….. Crusaders ….. Won 12 ….. 7
In the SL Regular Rounds + Play Offs there have been 2,695 fixtures, last night was the inaugural 12 - 7.

What a load of apologist twaddle, I suppose to be expected from the YEP which has never been even mildly critical of the Leeds management. Identical to the noises coming out of Bradford last season about McNamara. But at the end of the day, both McNamara and McDermott have shown no evidence in their careers that they are capable of halting declining team performances. Hopefully we won't have to put up with McDermott as long as the Bulls did with McNamara, but I won't hold my breath.

I've always felt Peter Smith was a know-nothing feckw1t but even so would have thought that someone whose sole role in life was to watch, understand and report on Leeds RLFC would be able to get his admittedly tiny brain around which stage of the Challenge Cup we have reached.
The rest of it reads as one would expect.

I also noticed the error but immediately forgave him on the basis that the QF tie away at Hull is a foregone conclusion anyway.

On the contrary my dear pessimist.
It's likely to be the last bridge they'll be crossing in the CC this year.
Semi Finalists they shall be in 2011.

| I was there last night (just got back as made it an overnight stay)
it was garbage....from both teams. Yes conditions were terrible but no worse than last week when we totally controlled Hull KR.
Crusaders played with plenty of effort but were no great shakes themselves which tells you all you need to know about how poor we were.
If anyone had popped in last night to watch RL for the first time they'd have thought they were watching two of the bottom teams. Honestly it was total gash and we got very very lucky.
We played like a tired team with no idea.
The irony being we had fresh props to bring in but we know the score there now. Instead we rested a 2nd rower.
The weather was crap, we were crap but at least we got the 2 points.
Not had chance to read any newspaper reports yet so don't know if it's being mentioned in any after match interviews but after the final whistle McDermott was in a huddle with the players in the middle of the lpitch before the players came over to our end. Looked like he migh have been Reading them the riot act. If he wasn't, he should have

| Pessimists are great, they never get disappointed.
I wouldn't say I'm a pessimist, but it's tough to be optimistic about the current position Leeds are in with regard to most respects. The only saving grace that I (and another regular poster) could find about the current situation was that we have more talented (if injury prone) young backs coming through at the moment than for quite some time.
I geniunely think that the current malaise is down to the (non) coaching that the players are receiving. If you look at the 17 that last won the GF for Leeds, 14 of them are still available to us (Donald, Diskin and Senior are not), so has the last 18 months really done so much to slow these players down or reduce their physical capacity? I think not.
