Reading between the lines in that article from a week ago. He's gone.
Sentences like... "[iI am just focused solely on this season[/i", "[isee what happens on a year-to-year perspective[/i" and the old classic... "[iat the moment[/i". Plus, "[iI personally haven’t spoken to Newcastle at all.[/i" could be perfectly true. He doesn't have to have spoken to them if he has a manager so he's not lying.
Coupled with "Buderus confirmed he is contracted at Leeds until the end of 2012." Meaning, he had to be asked about his contractual situation, rather than ramming it down the reporters throat that he was contracted (which you would be doing if it were genuinely all bo[ill[/iocks).
Bit gutted he's going, I think he brings a lot to the team, but players come and go and life goes on. What's more annoying is this habit we seem to be getting into of signing extensions a couple of weeks before leaving.

| I'd be disappointed with this news if McShane hadn't stepped up. I'll be honest, I didn't rate him at the beginning of the season but he's turned out to be a good SL hooker.
I would however resist calls to ditch Buderus now and blood Liam Hood. Yes, we should give Hood game time against less dangerous opposition, but IMO Buderus still has the quality to make the right plays in big games. It's up to him now to put some gloss on his time at Leeds and put to bed any suggestion he was just another average Aussie in SL.

If the team can win 4 GFs in 6 seasons with Diskin then if Hood and McShane fulfil their potential I see no reason why our prospects of winnig will be in any way affected by Buderus's departure.

Showed a clip where he took an awful option with a massive numerical advantage and followed up his poor decision making with an insipid kick. Highlighted his poor decision making.
I'm with you, with the form Burrow is showing, with the way Sinfield has stepped up in the halves and if McGuire can get fit and reproduce last year's form I fail to see why our fans covet other halves, especially a flash in the pan bump and run merchant like Chase.

| McShane to be No1 hooker with Hood hopefully next to him in a couple of years. Until then with Burrow and Sinfield in the squad they can cover while he has a breather. We have ample back rowers to cover loose, Ablett would be the favourate, whilst Sinfield moves to Hooker or Half back. The money should be spent on a centre or a real hard nosed prop. Not a fake one like Cross

Yup.
A Cashmere/O'Hara was the type of former State Of Origin prop we should have signed instead of the technically awful Cross.
Overseas recruitment hasn't gone great here, so seeing as Cross isn't getting selected Ambler (and or) Amor will do just as well and should be given a shirt.
On a related prop theme in our recent games against the Crusaders I thought Richard Moore was outstanding, a real handful. Great aggression levels and difficult to put down. I haven't seen that level of form from him for quite some time.

| Beds out, cross out, burgess moving on, kirkie out, Ali out, Keith out, maybe Webb and kylie too!
Loads of cap space!
Johnson in from wakey? Kaufusi from the knights? Ambler and Amor back in?
maybe strength in the backs? Plenty of options!

Sounds good, although the speed of pass from loose by Ablett out of the scrum is sometimes a little slow. We would be better putting our full-back there and give ourselves more weight in the initial charge.

A 16 player turn around in one off-season could well be disastrous though mind you.

Oh I agree mate. But if beds is going and burgess is going we can't do nowt about that, Ali brings nothing sat with us lot in the stands, Keith is past it, ambler and Amor already offer more than Kirke and cross for mine! Webb to Widnes? I said maybe kylie? He's getting old.
We can't keep blokes for the sake of it.
As you point out it could be a tough period but if managed right could be a really exciting one!

I think we could still be seeing Senior in a Leeds shirt next season. He is still one of the better centres in SL! Says more about the quality of centres in SL than anything else mind.
