After Wigan we are the second biggest club in England.

Amusing to see WireWonder spouting the "Wire are a bigger club than Leeds" argument on here. It was ridiculed on the Wigan board. Despite your problems at the moment (a bit exaggerated if you ask me, Wigan beat Hudds at Hudds but looked awful against Leeds, it's been a weird season) Leeds remain a massive club, that's obvious. Wire fans' desperation to be taken seriously is quite sad, it's a bit like a small child desperately wanting to be allowed to join in a game older, bigger kids are playing.

A 'massive club' that's only won the Challenge Cup once since 1978 and has been Champions only 7 times in it's history?

Hmmmm......

as opposed to Warrington who have won the CC a massive 2 times since 1978 (interesting year you chose considering Leeds won it in 76/77 and 77/7icon_cool.gif and a huge total of 3 championships in their history. Fewer than Leeds have won in the past 6 years, a trophy Wire havent won in 66 years.

But even then, not as big as Mr Smiths (or whatever it is calling itself these days ...)

There used to be more RL talent in there than there used to be at Wilderspool, given the number of players that were 'given a lift home' in the Cheshire Constabulary's 'Mobile Library Van' ....

well i'm sure Tvoc will give you the facts,but here goes Leeds first won the title in 1961,at a time when they were quite a way above other clubs in challenge cup wins,also although their first championship win didnt come till 1961,it was regarded as "the holy grail,"the curse of the bambino"if you like they were championship finalists 5or 6 times before then.just look at their record in the 20s and 30s that cemented there status as the largest club,of course being the only big city rl club.Obviously I dont have to compair Warringtons achievements with those of "the Aristocrats of rugby league"Leeds rlfc.all sporting clubs no matter how large have barren periods look at man utd?

A self-styled 'massive club' that after winning the Yorkshire Cup in 1986 never troubled silverware again til 1999?

Not only are we at Warrington bigger than you,i'd suggest Saints are too. (although we are a bigger club than them)

As opposed to Warrington who won the Lancashire cup in 1990 and didnt trouble the silverware again until 2009.

Good fishing young man.

And look at the money you spent,or wasted rather,during your barren spell,trying,and failing,to compete with Wigan.

It lead to winning NOTHING.

Had we spent that kind of money we'd have ended Wigan's dominance that you failed to do. In fact Leeds didn't even finish in the top 4 usually. Or get to Cup Finals.
