Quite impressive considering most fans tippedthem to struggle this season. They soaked up a lot of pressure, especially early in the game, and looked solid defensively although Leeds posed few questions with the ball. On attack they did the basics very well. Ran onto the ball at pace, made good yards and kicked well.
They look a well drilled team.

| Come on!!! The score flattered us. We were well beaten by the better team tonight. I have no quarrels to be fair. Yes we could have been better but we wernt... And they were. We will need to be a lot better next week.

Which is in sharp contrast to the way they've looked during the previous 5 seasons.

I have seen very little of them in the last 5 seasons so couldn't really comment but i remember them beating us at home early last season IIRC.They did play well though tonight. Time will tell if they can keep it up for the rest of the season. I hope they do.

| Poor display in every aspect really. Our last tackle playes and defense around the ruck will be particular cause for concern. In fact our defense in general was worse than I saw most of last season, We made it far too easy for the Quins to make yards and at no point did we pressure their (excellent) kicking game.
O a positive note I thought Burgess continued his good form and Watkins showed some goo touches 2nd half, although is defense is not up to scratch at the moment.
As for Quins they looked much improved. They were well organised, they looked a lot fitter than they have for a while and if they had more pace outwide would probably scored more. They could challenge for the playoffsif they can keep up this form IMO.

Season before last (2009), the one where Leeds were fortunate not to be nilled (4-21.) Last season Leeds won 62-4.

| Well we didn't want to peak too soon did we? My big worry is our defence out wide and positional play against kicks. Next week will be a big test.

As far as I know - once Smith begins to chase the ball, he becomes a 'chaser' and is no longer the 'kicker'. As I saw it, the tackle was so late that he had began chasing the ball. In this case, it's not an automatic yellow.
The reason for an automatic yellow being given for a late challenge on a kicker is due to the danger it places the kicker in - this risk is greatly reduced when the kicker then becomes a chaser.
I bumped into Mr Thaler after the game and was going to ask a quick question about this incident but decided against it

| The much better side won. Our defence was porous. At times we were totally devoid of attacking ideas 5yds from their line. As for their 1st 2 tries, words fail me!

My own view was'nt about taking a "kicker" out late it's that it was proffesional foul and warranted an automatic yellow especially as Delaney got binned against the Bulls for much less.

I think the Delaney yellow was unwarranted. I'm not 'up-in-arms' about the Quins player not being binned - I think it was a 50/50 call and on another day, he could have been sent to the bin.
The kick was too strong from Smith and there were another couple of defenders in attendance. Like you said though, it was cynical and unnecessary. You could argue it both ways.
