Ryan Bailey (11/11/83) - The Most Feared Man In Super League The Most Feared Man In Super League (TMFMISL) * Coined by thebloodbath * Inspired by Bailey *:39092.jpg

Quote: Frosties. "Rumours John Kear wont be there in a few weeks time.'"

I wouldn't be suprised.

Even the old school motivator has no cards left to play. His first team stars are leaving, the latest leaver will add further salt into fans and players wounds, which will leave an un-closeable hole in the team.

Huddersfield have picked up a decent signing, which will offer them further options.

What do Wakie have left? Looking at their message boards, not a lot. Hope is more or less lost and the acceptance of a broken club is settling in.

Could Kear, complete the biggest turn around of all time pooling whatever resources he has left? Unlikely. But he likes his romantic journeys.

"As you travel through life don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things" - George Carlin [url:2cg5oc2o]http://twitter.com/AndyGilder[/url:2cg5oc2o] [url:2cg5oc2o]http://fromthewesternterrace.blogspot.co.uk[/url:2cg5oc2o] This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif

Until the sale goes through, which it can't until Glover clears the RFL "fit and proper" test, the administrators are duty bound to continue selling assets to realise funds to pay the creditors. For the buyers to claim the administrators are being unfair in disposing of saleable assets is naive in the extreme - it's their job and what they're engaged to do.

Millard to Catalans is next on the list apparently.

I agree totally Andy that the Administrators have a job to do and are doing it, simples. I wonder however what happens to the valuation of the club as a "going concern" when it's assets are being sold off (rightly) to pay the creditors? The longer this goes on the lower the value of the club will be and the more players will leave to pay the bills. Not good.

I'm not an expert on valuing businesses, but I would imagine it will have been done either on the value of the assets or on a cashflow basis.

If it's the former, then the value will be going down slightly every time an asset of the business is sold. If it's the latter, it'll make a smaller dent in the valuation as the cashflow isn't necessarily going to change a great deal as a result of Ferguson and Obst moving on.

Andy - I thought Andrew Glover had already passed the RFL 'fit and proper' person test? Both him and Steve Parkin had both had verbal confirmation from the RFL already and that all the RFL needed to do was send the letter, which given the hour they could not do on Friday? Have you heard something different?

As I understand it, the RFL have still not confirmed it in writing and there are still issues for Spirit of 1873 and O'Haras to reach an agreement on for the sale to go through, even once that confirmation is received.

In the meantime, O'Haras will continue to liquidate assets to pay the running costs of the club while it's in administration (and their own, not inconsiderable, fees of course).

Sad to see yet another foundation club of the "Northern Union" fall victim to SL.

Did they fall victim to SL or to incompetent management? Why do you feel they fell victim to SL?

Because Wakefield are not wanted by SL.

Incompetent management clearly doesn't count in some cases, hence the RFL bailing out the Crusaders in some misguided attempt to expand SL into that hotbed of rugby known as erm... Wrexham (North Wales).

You mean that same Crusaders team that because of their actions there will soon be a high budget movie out spreading the sport to a whole new audience?

I mean yes it will also give high profile to Union too. But does anybody really think that the movie would have gone ahead about Thomas purely on playing one sport? nah it was his move to league and the uproar of what happend down at Cas that prompted writers and movie makers to begin this project.

Sure the Cas issue will not look great, but many will always tell you there is no such thing as Bad News. Getting the game to a higher profile is what the RFL want, the fans want, the players want, and the game needs.

Crusaders did us all a good job with that one.

Ooh, yes... fantastic!

A movie portraying RL in a negative, homophobic light.

What a fantastic reason for bailing out the latest failed experiment to expand RL into that hotbed of rugby which is South Wales... whoops! Sorry... I meant that hotbed of rugby which is North Wales.

Putting the silly stick in the mud trolling aside.

You seriously don't believe that having a high profile movie out there about the game and that team, is not going to get people to come and take a look?

You seriously don't belive that other super league clubs commercial departments are not going to use that movie to seek out new commercial opportunities that will open up when a new audience has had the game brought to it's attention?

Sure you can keep on trolling, but I don't believe for one minute you do not realize the benefits that Crusaders will have given the game here for the long term.

I hate the trolling too, but do you seriously believe that that movie is going to get made?

And in the incredibly unlikely event that, after a few years, the film gets out of early "development" stage that it will be focussed on Crusaders RL rather than Wales RU?

I'd be suprised if RL got more than 15 minutes coverage (tops) in that film, although what that has anything to do with Wakefield I'm not so sure.
