Do me a favour - we are by the far the best team on Humberside! We've just paid good money for a good young player who should give us years of good service. Contrast that with Hull Kingston Roosters who will get nowhere near the same value for money from Willie Mason - if indeed he ever gets a Visa and work permit.....

I for one don't really care if you are the best in humberside or not. He is still young and has the potential to come back, but that said I am so glad he didn't come to us!!!!!

You have just paid out out 150.000 for a player who was in the final year of his contract and has hardly been tearing up trees for the last season or so, i grant you the fact that he is young with potential, however, he will need to get his attitude sorted out otherwise he could end up just another has been before he's even got started, believe me, during the past 40 years ive seen many a promising player fail to reach their potential simply because they believed to much in their own hype and had issues of the field, as for getting value for money,well thats a no brainer, Westerman is young but currently with, an apparent attitude problem and everything to prove, hence from a marketing point of view he's unlikely to add anything significant to Hulls commercial outlets, at least not in the short term, wheares Mason, who according to the Aussie press, Was back to his best form toward the end of their season and is still a prominent name in the rugby league world, he will almost certainly add significantly to the commercial side of Hull Kr, the extra mechandise alone that will be sold as a result of his signing will go a long way to recouping some of Rovers innitial outlay.

As for the best team in the city, give your head a bang and then ask yourself, among other things,who has won the most games since our two teams started competing in the super league including the magic weekend and playoff games?.

apparently Cas didnt want to loose him like Shenton without a transfer fee. apparently he is one of Hull`s highest ever transfer fees for a 20 year old time will tell if he is to be a great player winning trophies with Hull or will it just be plaudits?

I saw the lad play for Fev Lions and he was far and away the best player on the field. He looked a great prospect. However he appears to have fallen back a bit in his progress. Hopefully the move will kick-start his career again.

You don't expect to see Rovers fans trolling Hull fans when you have a nosey at other teams forums!

- Given that Westerman is entering the last year of his deal at Wheldon Road, FC have just coughed up £150k to buy it out, when in 9 months, they could have had him for nothing.

- Given that our pit village friends have just lost their two best players (after all, who else at Cas might Leeds remotely want ?), just what hope is there for them ... Will they move in to a new ground, with a nothing team and a no SL fanchise ? Would you buy a Leeds season ticket, if we'd just let McGuire and Sinfield go ?

- Given that Westerman is alledged to have said 'not Leeds at any price' and assuming he wanted to stay this side of the Pennines, then Hull is about the only team with the financial clout to take him on at the moment.

To be honest I am not that fussed about missing out on him. Westerman didn't have a great season last year and currently does not exceed anything we've already got. As for a replacement for Sinfield, step forward Chris Clarkson, who is going to get better and better ....
