A great derby should still be a big game when both sides are average. Leeds v Bradford has become a bit mundane now. It's always a tougher game than it should be, like Cas away, but it doesn't really excite me. In the 2003 - 2005 era it did, because both sides were contesting the big pots, but not now. Hull v Hull KR and Saints v Wigan are bigger derbies for derbies' sake. Leeds v Saints has probably developed into the number 1 needle match over the last few years, purely because of what has tended to be at stake in those games recently.

Leeds have some of the highest priced tickets in the league, yet will comfortably pass that figure. Reckon Leeds, capacity allowing, would attract 25,000+ pledges for a £60 ticket.
Bradford are going 1 way, and that is down. Crap ground. Crap fans. Crap players.
Halifax can take their place. That would be ironic!!!

As far as "local" derby matches go its always been my opinion that us and Cas was a bigger game than us and the Bulls. Even in all the hype at the end/turn of the century.
