Now if your saying to me your precious Leeds team is still of championship winning quality I believe your lying to yourself. Your not strong enough this year and you lack killer instinct, Wigan won't perform badly a second time against you trust me end of the road'"
Fair enough comments. All Bull$h!7 but fair enough thats your opinion.
What about if you consider Leeds beat Warrington twice this season, St Helens in the CC Semi, Wigan in the CC also. Wigan in the eliminator.
Surely all those wasn't the result of the opposition playing poorly?

Poor players don't get retained by championship winning teams for very long. You don't win titles by employing poor players. Ryan Bailey (to whom I assume you're referring) has played in 4 Grand Final wins over 6 years. A poorer player would indeed have been shipped out to Cas or Wakey or similar by now.
Will Leeds win the title this year? If i was a neutral betting man, probably not, but we're still in it at the moment. Which is more than 10 of the 14 teams who started the competition can say. I'm always a little bemused by visiting trolls who delight in pointing out that we might (only might at this stage) fail to defend for the third time, a trophy which their club has never got close to winning to begin with. If we do lose on Saturday then, while being runners up in the Cup and reaching the semis of the play-offs isn't a great year by our recent standards, all but 2 or 3 of our rivals would gladly swap it for any year they've had in the last 4 or 5.

| No they weren't but I think the challenge cup final showed what kind of season you would have, far too much inconsistency, most years you start fairly slow and after world club challenge kick on to beat pretty much everyone, this year it's been too upside down, burrow hasn't performed Webb not as good and sinfield for me been playing better in halves. I just think this year isn't your year to sweep up and let's be honest it's not a bad thing it's just 1year, my posts might have seemed a bit argumentative but it's not the case, just expressing some views I have

| I don't think Wigan played badly against us last time out at all and to say that is a insult to the players on the pitch, if it wasn't for the poor ref wigan would of lost by more points in my opinion.
Why is it we have a season where we ain't as consistent and the vultures start circling and jump on the band wagon

Great article from the Yorkshire Post. Jamie pointing out that as much as Wigan might be up for it this Friday if they truly do think they were 'cheated' at the JJB, we'll be just as up for it for the disgraceful way Danny was treated both during and after the fixture. I really hope we put them in their place this Friday, in front of a crowd that will put theirs to shame.'"
I don't think is an article to be proud of at all and, although he may just be "sticking up" for his mate, his comments are fatuous and serve no other purpose than to cause trouble IMO - both on and off the field.
I think his comments only adds to heat up the cauldron of tension that exists between both sets of supporters and I hope there isn't any trouble on the terraces on Saturday. With the ability to mix amongst supporters ,and the no doubt heavy drinking beforehand, I honestly believe this fixture could bring the game into disrepute. I sincerely hope not.
Comments such as this: "I'm sure our lads will remember it going into Saturday's game." Suggests to me that the Leeds players will be inclined to dish a bit out. I for one, truly hope you come out and take our heads off. I hope JP and the twitter brigade are frothing at their mouths to give it to "the cowards". Anything that increases your chances of seeing a yellow/red card, give away cheap field position and detract from the game plan. It's an awful attempt at mind games. To suggest that Thomas Leuluai/Mark Riddell delayed Danny McGuire getting treatment is completely ludicrous and I'm afraid he looks very silly for it.

Oh well, at least he isn't wishing people have broken their necks or having their career and life ruined by an injury, ay?

| Cadoo I suggest you have a look in your own back yard before saying what is right and wrong, the comments if truth made by your fans and the alledged comments by your players really are very low its a game ffs, how desperate is that, get a grip my friend, if you think what went on on your board last week re mcguires injury were not creating tension you want ur head reading.
I think your fans team and ex players should be ready for some heat on saturday when no doubt you will see a proper crowd.
Anything but a win would be an utter disaster for you lot !!!being top odf the league all season, ask warrington fans what itis like to get knocked out when ur expected to win.
Waht peacock said is only what the fans think anyway
May the best team win

No wonder, what do you expect after what disgusting comments you and your fellow 'fans' made. Your in no position to take the moral high ground over comments made by players or fans.

I'm not saying any of those comments from Phil Clarke are acceptable either. Both Phil Clarke and Jamie Peacock should not have said what they have in the media. It only adds to the growing tension between the players on the field and the fans off the field. However, any Leeds fans condoning those comments of Jamie Peacock and yet lambasting the nefarious Phil Clarke they only stand to look like utter sanctimonious hypocrites.
I find it staggering that both sets of supporters choose to prattle on about the comments of Phil Clarke in the build up to both sides biggest match of the Super League season. This game has all the makings of another classic Leeds v Wigan encounter. Something that I am very much looking forward to with great excitement and anticipation. I hope we see a game that demonstrates both the talents of the players of both sides and the reason I believe this sport is the best in the world.
As you say, may the best team win.

I see I'm fighting a losing battle with some on here. I will only add to the sentiments above that neither are some Leeds fans.
Come off your high horse and just look forward to a (hopefully) excellent game of rugby league that both teams and the sport deserves.

It's hard to just ignore comments like that and let people off with it. It's only a game of rugby after all. Either way, I agree with the last part. I hope for a fair and exciting game of rugby, with the only topic of discussion after the match being how good a game it was.

I empathise, but surely isn't it time to let it go now? How many pages long is the Phil Clarke thread?
I agree entirely with the last part of your post. I wouldn't want the game to be ruined with someone being sent off after ten minutes or a controversial refereeing decision.

Well, we played with no halfbacks for that match, losing one just the day before, so you can boast about that win if you like but it's probably the least convincing of all the boasts. And then, of course, you might have beaten Warrington twice during the season but when it came to the CC final you were well and truly tonked. So again, it's a bit of an empty boast. Probably the only boast worthy of a boast is the win against Wigan in the CC. Not sure they'll let you off this time around though. I guess it depends on how badly they want to be at Old Trafford.
