| Quote: Inflatable_Armadillo "To be fair, I think the reason this has been kept a bit vague is that I think they have always intended opening at least the upper tier of the Fantastic Media Stand for walk-ups. I suspect that if they do completely sell out in advance they will open the West Stand for walk-ups too!
There is no-way on this earth they are going to turn people away if they sell out the stands they want to sell out in advance!
That is what is so crap about the whole thing, once again the RFL puts the wants of TV above the fans'"
Isn't there usually a lot of moaning about empty seating in televised games on these forums? Aren't they just addressing that?
Assuming the attendance is similar to those TVOc has pointed out a few eeks hence does it matter what order they sell the tickets in? Isn't this, for once, clever marketing, artificially limiting supply?
If someone was desperate for tickets in a particular stand they should have bought earlier.

When you go to the supermarket, do you just pick the first item on the shelf? or do look behind them for the ones with the furthest from out of date?
I would be pretty pished off if the supermarket refused to serve me the ones behind just because they want to get rid of the older ones first.
Unfortunately, I am unable to go to the semi as flying that day for vacation. But glad I dont have to mess around with the musical chairs farce it appears the RFL are putting people through.

Yes and No!
I just think closing the whole of the single tier large West Stand as opposed to what they have previously done, closing the Upper East and Upper North tiers, is just depriving the fans of choice of the better places to sit to watch Rugby League LIVE in favour of making the place look full, one assumes for the wider non RL media and public. They are forcing people to sit in them god damn awful upper tier seats along the Eastern touch line instead of the better seats along the Western touch line. The people that wait or even pay on the day might now get the seats that all those people now forced to sit in the gods would have preferred in the first place had they had a choice!
In the two previous fixtures we have had crowds just short of 20k, which only leaves 4500 empty seats, must of which would be in the upper East stand, the ground is 4/5th's full, what is wrong with that?

No the supermarket only puts out on the shelves the stuff it wants to sell, if it has plenty of lettuce it will keep the fresher stuff back as then it has more chance of selling the older stuff before it has to start discounting it.

You need to stop going to the cheap scandinavian ones.
Not in my supermarket. The older stuff to the front the newer to the back, that's the way it's done.

That doesn't mention the recently arrived stuff that's kept in the warehouse until there is room on the shelves for it. BTW they don't have cheap Scandinavian ones in Ireland, cheap German ones I'll give you but not cheap scandinavian ones but I don't tend to use them for fruit and veg.

Fruit and Veg?

| The woeful RFL ticketing website is showing the FM Upper as being "on sale".
Only the Kilner Bank is greyed out.

I note what you say in your final sentence but I still think it's clever marketing, artificially driving up demand.

Arghh, you mean either down the touch line side, albeit only one of the touch lines at the moment, and both ends... yes, ok, see what you mean!
I think I got my East & West mixed up BTW but according to Wiki the single tier East stand, the Kelner Bank stand, has a capacity of 'over 7000' which means that if we come close to matching the previous 20k crowds then they will have to open this stand at some point as they are going to be at least 2500 seats short if they don't open it.
It does look like they have now opened the upper tier of the Fantastic Media stand now but you can only get your tickets from Leeds for this stand.
