We have a difference of opinion on the context of the opening post.
I took it to be a hypothetical representation of the top four (in order) at Week 3 of the Play-Offs. Wigan and Warrington being depicted as the Week 1 winners and Leeds and St Helens as the survivors from the knock out matches in Week 2. The only previous experience of the top 8 system being operated in SL showed that the teams finishing 3rd and 4th at the end of the Regular Rounds failed to get past Week 2. The only stage at which there would be a definitive four clubs remaining, at the point where the club choice would be activated, is at the commencement of Week 3.
In that instance (and the poster appears to confirm that as his intention, both in the opening post and in a later contribution) then Wigan could not select their fellow week 1 winners which I presumed to be Warrington in the hypothetical example he set out.
If I've misunderstood the scenario offered then it wouldn't be the first time I've done so but it wouldn't be as a result of failing to comprehend how the Play-Offs operate.

I did think in actual fact that you were probably looking at this from exactly the context and perspective you have described above... but I still found it hard to resist not posting something.
I don't think he meant what I thought I knew you meant and you then described above... still, lets just get on with finishing in bloody 4th first!

I'd only really be upset with myself if I posted an incorrect Leeds stat.
If someone picked one of those up I'd be devastated. It almost happened once - finglas was the poster, Mick Potter's coaching record V Leeds was the subject. I was partially crushed but just about managed to pull myself together.
