Quote: Andy Gilder "Morgan would have got a top job if one was available last winter. Hull KRs rapid decline this season has tainted what he achieved previously though and I can't see a side like Leeds or Saints taking a gamble on him.
Expect an invasion of antipodean coaches yet again. Sadly those young British coaches who have been given opportunities at SL have, in the main, failed to cover themselves in glory.'"
I agree & it is a cause for concern. Why can we not develop better coaches?
However, it seems to happen in most sports over here.
Soccer - Italian coaching the national side & the Premier league Cahampions.
Rugby Union most clubs seem to have Antipodean or S African coaches on their staff.
Cricket likewise.
Rowing only really deveoped when we brought in German to coach the national squads, I think swimming was the same when the brought in an Australian.
Cycling is an exception where success has been produced by British coaches.
All the money going into sports development & coaching doesn't appear to be a resounding success yet.
I wonder why?
