To be honest, I think most Saints fans were (very pleasantly!) shocked at how little our injuries did disrupt us. Including the season-long absence of Soliola, we had Gidley, Meli and Pryce missing plus two of our backups in Dean and Lomax. Everyone was dreading Flannery filling in at centre because he has been so poor there in the past but today he was great.

Saints fans last saw Foster play at first grade in a friendly against Widnes before the 2009 season. He went off injured. He was a very skinny guy back then. He isn't exactly a monster now but he seems to have come through today's match unscathed. His kicking skills have been known to Saints fans all along but we had pretty much given up hope of ever seeing them displayed on the field at first team level. I think he has a 100% record in the under 20s this season but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I think that's fantastic. It's a credit to both teams that they can produce the home grown young players to make that possible.
