what a knee jerk reaction to one good performance that is.

Gosh you have to be so careful and precise on here so as not to provoke responses like this (Written word not the best medium)
I simply meant I am happy that these particular guys made me and others eat my/our words in this particular match.....and if they continue on in the same vein nobody will be happier than me.
Am going to bed a happy man. I have a great wife a great job and my step son is now a converted union fan. If you want to have a dig at me.....feel free. Couldn't really care less. Lol.

Tansey try was a fluke and they scored twice IIRC certainly once when we were down a man.
10/12 maybe 16/18 points gifted there then

Not sure I agree with that.
I had dissagreement with rhinoms last week, where I felt the defence was poor all game last week and rhinoms thought it was just 20 minutes.
But this week I thought we defended much better than the score suggested. Hull were gifted at least two tries by Silverwood, and aided with the others.
Interesting how our knock on in build up to one try is highlighted by the hull fans, but they completely miss the point that the Tansey try from Ablett's error actually came from a mile forward pass into Ablett's hands.

I think the defence looks wobbly still. You're quite right that the pass that Ablett fumbled to Tansey was forward but what worries me more was the ease with which they broke down our right before that. They did it a lot in the 1st half.
Also, despite his tries, Hall was poor in defence. He did a "Smith" and came in when the interior defenders were sliding out, twice. He may not have stopped the tries but it's a bad habit and it's worryingly being displayed regularly by our wingmen.

I would say our defense overall was improved from last week, no arguments there. But again in the last 15/10 mins we started leaking points that Hull had really no right to have. That must be about 30 points in two weeks that we have conceded in certainly no longer than the last 15 minutes of the match. Had we not taken a very big lead, which I very much doubt we will at Saints, we could end up losing the game because of this slack end to the match.

| As a neutral I'm really looking forward to this one it should be a cracker, I'm just hoping it'll be dry so we can see some nice open rugby from both sides.
Plus hopefully you can beat Saints and give us (Wigan) a little more breathing space at the top.

When we were down to 12 and after a few repeat sets!
had the score been tighter I have every faith our defence would have been tougher.

And in a cup game, so no points difference as a factor, the game was won, Hull did not have anything to lose and we had 12 men for 10 of those 15 mins. Not saying the defence was perfect but I also think this needs to be put in perspective. Great win and best performance of the year so far... I agree with tvoc as well, we looked back at the top of our game for periods.

I agree we always seem to switch off slightly in defence when we are well in front, would like to think we won't ease up against saints. Got to miss the match as I am working but have the joy of sky +

According to the Saint's board (will one of you web geeks tell me how to do those embedded link things please ) viewtopic.php?f=18&t=454213, Leon Pryce has broken his toe. He's looked quiet good this season from the few games I've seen but as we all know, he goes hiding when Leeds come to town.
On a worse note. TMFMISL's biatch (Mary) has failed a late fitness test so won't be getting smashed around the park. Oh well, more stick for FGB then.
They seem to be all rumour, a text from a mate of a mate situation but we shall see how true they are soon.
