| Quote: Sibbs Rhinos "He may be saying what alot of people are thinking, but professional sportsman cannot do this. It is a stupid and immature thing to do. I hope the club gives him a proper punishment.'"
Why should he be punished though? For what?
Yeah maybe he shouldnt say what he did but he was interviewed straight after one of the biggest games of his career where he feels he was real hard done to by a referee.
Refs give out the critisism so should have the balls to accept flack after the game in my eyes if it is warranted (by the way I am not saying any little thing should be brought up). What I am saying is maybe rugby league needs more Arsene Wengers and people like scummer Ferguson who are not afraid to let referees know when they have had a poor game or made bad decisions. Isnt critisism how people learn to be better at what they do? If Silverwood is arrogant then maybe he needs to know this so he has something to work on???? Just a thought.

I don't think he had a poor game tbh.

No suprises there.
Silverwood p*ssed me off tonight.
Inconsistent mediocre performance.
Pick 'n' mix. One minute it's a penalty, 10 minutes laters it get up and play on.

| If Senior gets punished in any way shape or form all the players should club together and all the players should refuse to speak to any member of the press, including Rhinos TV, in the immediate aftermath of games to give them an opportunity to calm down and take stock.
Mr Irvine of the times seems to share Seniors' sentiment.
Where am I?
Quote: technique "Keith Senior had some harsh words for referee Richard Silverwood during and after Leeds's 18-10 World Club Challenge loss to Melbourne, including some of the four-lettered variety in the bowels of Elland Road, for which the Rhinos veteran could find himself on the naughty step at Red Hall.
Senior's frustration boiling over at Melbourne's wrestling, niggling and spoiling tactics led to the penalty by Cameron Smith that crucially put the NRL champions ahead on the hour mark. Yes, it was wrong, and, no, he shouldn't have had a go at Mr Silverwood, but part of me could sympathise with Senior, because the Storm played the referee - their choice of referee, moreover - perfectly.
I'm not usually moved in a press box to bark at a referee, but Sunday night was the limit. Melbourne got away with murder in wrestling and lying on at the play-the-ball, which was rendered a farce. As a spectacle, the game was ruined. You had to read between the lines when Leeds coach Brian McClennan spoke about British referees not being used to Melbourne's "technique".'"
I am glad we have players who are passionate about winning and have no issue with what Senior had to say. I think he was right as well btw. Should he have said it? Well, perhaps not but if we're going to allow journalists to interview players immediately after games then that is what you will get.

Leeds fans are moaning about Storm doing what Leeds have done to St Helens in the last 3 grand finals.

| There wasn't much moaning on here last year when we got beaten by Manly, with an Aussie ref and playing to the Aussie interpretation of the rules. Manly were by far the better side on the night and deserved their win.
Lumpawood from Mirfield attempted on his own middin, to play the poor mans version of the Aussie interpretation of the rules and failed badly.
It is performances like his that make the introduction of the dual refereeing system to be sooner rather than later. Either he's too busy trying to watch what is going on, to miss the antics going on elsewhere and therefore needs some help or he is generally incompetant, in which case he needs some help ....

I also seem to recall that the last time the Scousers met Melbourne, the Aussies scored x10 the amount of points the Merseysiders managed ....

Slowing them down. That's all Storm did. Silverwood allowed both sides the same amount of lying on.
