Are you a closet St Helens fan or something?

| I started watching Leeds in 1980 and for the most part it felt like a soul destroying way to spend your spare time on a Sunday afternoon. However, as soon as we won the championship in 2004, the magic seemed to go out of being a supporter. Somehow, in a masacistic way, heroic failure and the comedy that went with it was perferable to sustained success. I can't explain why, it just was.
Therefore, if pre Rhinos days count, my favourite period was between 1985 (Brendon Hill throwing his boots at Peter Fox) and 1994 Alan Tait having a nightmare at the national stadium. All of it fantastic.
I'm starting a campaign to bring back Dean Lance (Doug Laughton's too old) and sign some lazy t0ssers with egos the size of the Ukraine. come on Leeds!

That's a more common sentiment than you might think.
Nothing will ever top 2004 because it was so long coming but it really did change the goalposts in terms of what being a Leeds supporter was about, what you could expect and what you might realistically hope for.

| Quote: Damo-Leeds "Personally I’d have to say around 2000/2001 when we signed the trio of Bradley Clyde, Brett Mullins and Tonie Carroll, That was probably the only time the Rhinos management dipped in they pockets and bough some quality players.
These days we sign lesser talented players than these three.'"
I thought the best time to be a Leeds fan was when they signed John Gallacher from rugby union, who at the time was the best union player in the world, no league club has ever made a signing of that magnitude since

| I'd say 2006 to now, we've been climbing up to the top of our game. Although you will get jealous cynics accusing you of being a glory hunter.
