| I agree. I watched tonight and was mostly bored and frustrated.
Enjoy following football, but am less and less interested in watching it

| What people forget that used to watch Leeds is that this is 3rd division football and not the stuff you see on a Wednesday night on ITV

International football is in general very, very poor.
Normally the Premier League is quite entertaining, as is Division One. For quality football, you're best off watching La Liga, some of the play out there is magic.

Premiership is the worst of the lot.
Mediocre teams with overpaid self obsessed players, propped up by wealthy backers or unmanageable debt. Very little entertainment football wise, and only 4 teams will ever get close to winning it as things stand.
The only way a team can hope to join them is to be bought out by a foreign investor, who then pours even more money into the pockets of the selfish players and their agents, who will no doubt claim to slaves to their clubs, or insulted by only a 10k a week pay rise.
I lost interest in the premiership when Chelsea were bought out by Abramovic, and subsequently bought the title for the next 2 years

I can imagine. I went to a game at the Nou Camp about 8 years ago, absolutely quality.

Very boring, very, very boring and has been for many, many years
Its a shocking game played by cheats who have lost the primary objective of the game (to score goals) and instead concentrate on getting their opponents penalised, and led by gutless committees who won't adopt technology to remove the cheats even though that technology exists in every Premiership ground.
As for the people who watch it ?
Sheep, the sort of people who wear nylon football shirts when on holiday in 90 degree temperatures because they saw someone else wearing a different football shirt yesterday and they want to be seen wearing theirs, sheep who follow the mantra of "The beautiful game" because some ex-pro in Sky keeps telling them - I mean, since when did a RL fan believe anything that Eddie Hemmings said ?
There Emma, its not just you, I cannot watch more then five minutes of the borefest.

How weird me too, my GF used to live up there and I went to watch them when I visited, 3 x Leeds/Dundee Utd fans

| I like football as a sport, but I think it's horribly over-televised and over-hyped. I enjoyed playing it more than any other sporting activity I've partaken of, until my latest lower-limb fracture finally forced me to give up earlier this year. I used to enjoy watching it, but in the Sky era something happened, and I got bored. I still think it might be because with the sheer volume of football broadcast on Sky it was easy, in my early 20's, to get sucked into watching hours and hours of the stuff.
Then one day it dawned on me that I was wasting a lot of time on meaningless matches. As somebody said above, all bar about 6 teams in the Premier League are, despite all the hyperbole from Sky, very ordinary indeed. England friendlies are like watching dry paint remain dry. I find the Spanish game technically better, but less exciting than English football.
Nowadays I don't have Sky, all I watch is the occasional Champions League game on ITV, and consequently I usually quite enjoy them. I still actually prefer going to watch my old team on Newbold Comyn Park on a Sunday though. It's a bit more real, for want of a better word. I used to watch Guiseley for preference while I was still in Leeds. That felt more like what football should be.
Meh.

| I like to watch match of the day (because its highlights) and Leeds games but thats about it.
The england qualifiers have been shockingly poor, I will no doubt get all giddy when the WC starts though.

I don't mind Qualifiers, and like you will no doubt get giddy when the World Cup starts. I don't mind if the game itself is a bit rubbish when the result matters.

I think its the result that catches my interest too. Very rarely does the football excite or entertain me. The nal team of a few years ago played beautiful football, and if they were on i'd watch if I had nothing better to do.
